The high-back option provides optimum safety with True Side Impact Protection (TSIP) while the backless mode makes hopping from carpool to carpool easy to do. As a backless booster, the Parkway may only be used in vehicle seats that already have a headrest.
Both modes make use of the new Britax SlideGuard, a strap that works with your vehicle's seat belts to prevent submarining (a dangerous situation in which a child slides beneath the lap belt during a collision, causing internal injuries and death).
The cover is made of an easy-to-clean fabric. The luxurious fabric works well with your car's interior.
Installation: The Britax Parkway booster car seat installs much like any other belt-positioning booster with one unique addition: simply route the vehicle belts through the color-coded pathways and pass the lap-portion of the belt through the SlideGuard tab.
The SlideGuard tab creates a crotch-strap to protect your child from submarining. Submarining is when a child slips below the lap belt during a collision, causing internal injury and possibly death. The SlideGuard strap works in both backless and high-back mode.
Install the Britax Parkway car booster seat as either high-back or backless. As a high-back booster seat, the Parkway provides True Side Impact Protection. As a backless booster seat, the Parkway becomes an easily transportable booster.

Comparison: A great alternative to the Britax Parkway is the Sunshine Kids Monterey Booster. The Monterey car booster seat incorporates anti-submarining protection with a unique ramped seat and reinforced seat bottom. The Monterey has the same high height and weight limits as the Parkway (63" and 120 lbs) and a lower weight minimum (30 lbs).
In contrast to the Parkway, the Monterey adjusts by both height and width. The Monterey has a wider footprint than the Parkway and so may be a tighter squeeze in some cars. The Monterey also uses LATCH for a more secure install.
For a more basic booster car seat, check out the Maxi Cosi Rodi XR. The Rodi XR has a funky look that adds style while side impact protection wings ensure safety. Like the Parkway, the Rodi XR has an easily adjustable headrest and converts to a backless booster for easy transport.
The Rodi XR has a lower height and weight limit than the Parkway (57" and 100 lbs). For your child's comfort, the Rodi reclines for truly comfortable cruising.
