Reviews for TriplePlay Sit 'n' Stroll convertible car seat
Very Convenient for Traveling

I bought the sit 'n' stroll to go on a trip. It was exactly what I hoped it to be. The down side is that my daughter is almost 2 and it was very heavy to hold the car seat and deploy the wheels myself. I had to have help. It also didn't fit down the aisle of the plane like I had hoped. Maybe it was just the style of plane I was on. Overall, it was worth every penny and I highly recommend getting it if you are traveling. Having to haul a car seat and a separate stroller would have been much more difficult.

Great Traveler

By far our trip to Costa Rica with our 18 month old was made easier and more enjoyable as a result of the multiple uses of the sit n stroll. Anyone traveling with infants/toddlers will appreciate this. From getting to and from the airport, moving thru the airport to eating in a restaurant and you only needed to take 1 piece not 3.

This is a fantastic product! Traveling with kids is hard enough, why bring a carseat and a stroller if you don't have to. The carseat buckles into both an airplane and a car. As a stroller it is very easy and comfortable to push. And converting it from carseat to stroller can be done very easily (even while your child is strapped into it!). The stroller is a bit pricey if you do not do a lot of traveling. We bought one and share it with our friends when they need it. Everybody thinks it's great!
Thanks for sending it so quickly, fastest online order I've ever recieved!

We travel frequently, flying a couple of times a month. After wrestling with our toddler on each flight, we decided she needed to be in a carseat. We were thrilled when we found there is a carseat/stroller combination and ordered one right away...the Sit n Stroll! We use it constantly and have no complaints. It took a few tries for us to figure out how to fold and unfold the wheels, but once you're used to it, it's a breeze. If your child is heavy, you will probably have to take him/her out before switching it to/from a stroller/carseat. It's not the type of carseat you would want to use in your car on a regular basis (but you could!) as you have to readjust the car seat belts each time AND strap them into the carseat. It can be used for newborns to 40 lb children. (5 to 30 lbs rear facing and up to 40 lbs [4 years approx] forward facing).
This item fits easily in Airbus 319 and 320 seats, though you will have to ask the flight attendant for a seatbelt extender. You have to really PUSH it down the aisle when boarding but for some reason, it's easier to deplane, maybe the way the seats are set up? It also fits easily in 757, 767 and 777 seats. It will fit in the Canadaire and Emberare (sp) regional jets, but you will have to leave the arm rest up and again, use the seat belt extender. It is FAA approved (I work for an airline) but you will have to remind the gate agent that you are taking it on the plane rather than checking it at the gate (you will need to buy a seat for your child).
Ours came with a sun visor and we just hung a small, mesh bag on the back for little things (toys, snacks, etc.) It has been so great to be able to snap her into the car, drive to the airport, out of the car, stroll into the airport, on to the plane, into the seat! This stroller/carseat can also be used as a booster seat while dining. It weighs about 15 lbs and is the size of a regular toddler carseat.

Excellent for travel, OK for everyday use.

This car seat/stroller is great for travelling, especially when flying. We recently took our first trip with baby, and had to change planes 2 times each way. It made travelling more convenient. Everyone who saw it did a double take, and people with kids all had to stop and look.
It does take a little bit of practice opening and closing the stroller. It is easy to collapse the stroller-just make sure that the wheels are lined up correctly, or the foot rest will not close properly. If you are short, it may take 2 people to open and close it.
It was easy to move from car to car, even with a sleeping baby in it! The car seat was a breeze to install either with latches or with seatbelts (lap or shoulder strap). Our son did not seem to mind that the strap was across his lap. On one flight, the seatbelt was short and almost was not able to be used to secure the carseat. It does fit down most airplane aisles, but even if it does not, it is light enough to be carried. It is worth it to have a combined car seat/stroller than to have both separately.
We have a co-worker who took her Sit n' Stoll to Europe, and said that it was the best thing she ever bought for her baby. Her only gripe was that after walking on cobblestone paths, the wheels were about to fall off. Also, you may notice that the handle seems flimsy, but we have had no problems with it. We figure that some compromises had to be made to design such a multifunctional unit.
We don't travel much, but the Sit n' Stroll is still a good buy. We use it as a second car seat (in my car). It is not used much, since for most trips our son is in the other car in a regular car seat. It still is nice to use when going out to restaurants, or shopping.

An Absolute Must for Frequent Travelers

Do you take an infant or toddler with you when you travel?
Do you travel frequently?
Do you believe it is insane that most major airlines allow children under two to ride on their parents laps?
If you answered any (or all) of these questions in the affirmative then you should seriously consider the Sit N Stroll stroller car seat combination. This device was built with you, the one who travelers frequently with a small child in mind. This compact and easy to use device makes the hassles of flying with your toddler easier!
While preparing for our recent travels to Moscow we needed a car/plane seat that was portable, safe, and lightweight. We initially believed we would bring both a car seat and a travel stroller. The Sit n Stroll allowed us to significantly lighten our load without compromising safety or comfort for our 1 year old. The
Before leaving for Europe, we tested the device on a quick trip to Las Vegas. We found it easy enough to setup and install, although you must go through the hassle of installation each and every time you use it. That is to say, the seat is held to the vehicle by use of the lap belt over and across the seat, so each time you use it you must carefully install it (with your child in the seat). We made it though Vegass McCarran airport without much hassle, and had little to no difficulty with the rental car.
On our European travels, this device earned its expensive price tag. Just being able to stroll our son while on line to clear customs in Moscow (or any long line) made it worth the hefty price tag. This stroller is tough, as it was able to go up and down, curbs, uneven pavement, dirt and all sorts of hazards that would normally tear apart cheaper devices.
On our return the wheel flap broke off, and the manufacturer replaced the entire device and our only out of pocket expense with the freight to ship it back to Colorado. I would like to emphasize, the Safeline Corporation stood by their product and provided an easy replacement process to a seat that broke while under warranty!
Overall we are extremely satisfied with this device and if you travel by plane frequently with your child, then this is something you should consider. It is however, a bit of an extravagance, as it is expensive as we only use while traveling.

Essential for New York City
Reviewer: Anonymous , Unknown

We live in Manhattan but do not own a car, and the Sit-n-Stroll is essential. Because we take a lot of taxis, it is great to have only one thing to lug around that serves two functions. The alternatives would be either doing without any sort of restraint system (no way, given the reputation of cab drivers in NYC) or lugging around both a stroller and a carseat, which is generally not possible for one person for an extended period of time (while managing a heavy diaper bag, in most cases) unless you're a body builder.
Be careful, however, to lubricate the axles and swiveling front wheels regularly. If they get stuck perpendicular to your direction of travel and fail to turn when you push forward, the front wheels could snap off. Use only a silcon or wax-based lubricant (available at bike shops). Look for the non-flammable lubricants, since the flammable ones tend to be the ones that include petroleum products, which dissolve plastics.

Great for air travel!
Reviewer: F/A and mom-to-be , Newport, KY

I'm a flight attendant and also 5 months pregnant with my first child. The Sit 'n' Stroll is on my baby gift wish list and I will purchase it if I don't receive one before my baby's first flight (well, at least his/her first flight outside of the womb!). I first saw this item advertised in my airline's shopping catalog and I knew it was a must have even though I wasn't even pregnant yet. This product is getting more and more popular with passengers and everyone I've talked to just raves about it. I even talked to a pilot who has one for his little girl and he made some good arguments for it:
1) A regular travel system stroller takes up most, if not all, of the trunk space of a rental car which leaves no room for luggage. Plus, if you didn't bring the carseat, the rental car company charges you a fee per day for 'loaning' you one.
2) You won't have to wait for your stroller to be brought to you at the gate, as you get off the plane, you'll have it with you all a long.
3) It works great for spare carseat for the second car and as a booster in restaurants. I waited tables for years and regular carrier seats do not function well in restaurants, unless you put it in the aisle which is dangerous to your child.
4) MOST IMPORTANTLY, a carseat is the safest place for your baby on a plane, just like in a car. I'd like to point out that it is the FAA that allows Lap Children, not the airlines (as suggested by another reviewer), until the FAA changes the rules, the airlines can't make people buy seats for their babies. However, most airlines will let parents with lap children use a FAA apporved carseat, if there is an empty seat availible.
Once I've actually used this for my own child, I'm sure I'll have more to add!
Happy babies and safe flying to all!
