Reviews for Graco ComfortSport convertible car seat
good seat, but it smells

When my seat arrived i left it in the box for a day. That night my entire living room smelled horrible. The seat came not wrapped in anything, just thrown in a box and smelling of something terrible. I washed the seat 3 times, used febreeze, and hung it outside to air out-and it still smelled terrible. Graco was good about sending new material that didn't smell quite as bad-but still had a slight stink to it.

I purchased 2 of these seats because my vehicle was stolen & all my car seats were gone when they found the vehicle. I do daycare so I had to purchase 2 seats at reasonable prices. The seat is easy to install & comfortable for the kids. The only complaint I have is when you pull on the strap to tighten it, it never tightens them evenly. It always only makes one strap tighter, not both. Other than that, I like the seats. I have not found a seat that doesn't have a flaw, even the expensive Britax. This Graco seat is worth the money.

I haven't found a better seat yet. We have the metropolitan with pedic foam and eps shock absorbing foam. It looks great and extremely iscomfortable! We all love it.

Wouldn't purhase again

As a mom of two toddlers, I have purchased six car seats in the last three years for our two cars, Grandma, etc. I really loved my Graco infant seat, so I thought the Graco convertible car seat would offer the same quality construction...but I was wrong. The fabric is itchy and feels really cheap. The padding under the booty is minimal. I have only had the seat for 7 months and I am going to replace it with the top of the line car seat I should have gotten from the beginning. A good friend of mine has had to return her Graco car seat twice because pieces broke off. Spend more and get a seat that is at least four times the quality.

We purchased this seat in the Metropolitan pattern and are fairly pleased. We also have a Britax Marathon. Despite reviews of the Britax straps not tangling, we actually find the straps on the Graco easier to use. The seat is comfy, but not quite as nice as the Britax. The only problem with our Graco is the smell of the foam on the seat. We have washed the cover a couple times and wiped the seat down, however we cannot seem to eliminate a

just ok

This seat is just ok. I bought it as a second seat for my husband's car. I have the Britax in my car. While rear facing the straps were difficult to adjust for my son. It would tighten more on one side then the other. Once turned to face forward it is much easier to adjust and works fine. I do wish I had just spent the extra money on an additional Britax though.

Comfy for Baby, a squeeze fit for car and van

We tried a bunch of different brands at the local baby big box store and kept coming back to the Graco for style and ease of use. No matter if you order the seats, go to a local store and try them in your car / van / SUV etc . . . first. These convertible seats are BIG.
We ordered this seat because we loved the fabric style ( Metropolitan ) on our Infant seat and wanted it for the convertible seat as well. We could not get this seat anywhere locally. This newer style seat also has the impact foam for 2005 production. The 2004 versions do not.
Fitting ANY convertible seat into a compact car is tough. This seat is no exception. In rear-facing mode, I had to move the passenger seat all the way up. Anyone who rides now has to ride in the back with the Baby. Once we can turn it to forward facing, we will be back to normal.
The seat also fits tight in the minivan and we have to have the front seat about 2

Easy to use and comfortable for baby.

My baby weighed almost 11 pounds at birth. He is only 6 months old now and weighs 21 pounds and is 30 inches long. It was so important to the pediatrician and I that we had a car seat that was rear facing until he was at least 30 pounds. This was one of the few and the only one that had all of the features of comfort that I wanted in a seat for my baby.
