Excellent seat for those that want to keep their kids in a 5 point harness for longer duration. Also an excellent chair for those whose kids are larger than the norm. Yes they are wide, but incredibly sturdy and well built. You do pay a premium for them but how do you put a price on your childs safety?

3 Regents in a row!
Reviewer: Stephanie , Salinas, CA

I have a F250 Ford Truck (2005) and I have twins that are 3 and an older son that is 4. I put 3 regent car seats in a row but it was a tight fit. I used the regular seat belts with the top tether. The middle seat I had to really sink my knee deep in the seat to accommodate the lap belt because it was almost too short. These seats do not move when installed properly. Only gave this seat a 4 star rating because I think this seat can be slimmed down just a bit and not so heavy. But since it was the only choice I had in the 5 point harness, I had to buy them. We need more options with this type of seat please!

Regent vs Boulevard
Reviewer: Anonymous , Quincy, IL

I wanted the side impact protection, my husband wanted to be done buying seats. So I ordered the Boulevard for my van and the Regent for his truck. I spent about an hour trying to fit the Regent tightly into the back seat of his Ford F150 and finally concluded that it simply doesn't fit. My husband figured he could make it fit by force but after another hour he too gave up. It just doesn't fit the truck. I sadly pulled the Boulevard (which I LOVE) out of the van and managed to get the Regent in securely. It's comfortable enough, and I am sure safe enough, but it's just a dinosaur. It's hard to install, the cover is a pain to get off and on (which you must do to get at the latch belts) and the instructions are awful. On the latch installation page at the top, it states you MUST use this route if your child is 20-40 lbs. The next page says you MUST use this alternate route if your child is 40-80 lbs. Then in small type, farther down the page than most people read it says, but don't use the latch at all for children over 48 lbs! They couldn't come up with one way for 20-48 pounds??? If it holds a 50 pound child safely, it won't be safe for a 30 pound child unless you rethread the belts?! Give me a break. Not to mention that the route for the 40-48 lbs is impossible to tighten because of the placement. Just a really poorly thought out design--especially since I had the Boulevard to compare it too.
The Boulevard, by contrast, is improved from every other carseat I have ever tried (we have 4 children, so there's been a bunch). It's simple to install--took about a minute in both the van and now sadly for me, in the truck. It fit perfectly in both vehicles. I had worried my daughter wouldn't like the side impact head rests, but she snuggles right in. I do question that it will actually hold a 65 pound child--the seat doesn't look any bigger than the Roundabout we had. But I like everything else about it so much that I am not going to worry about that until I have to.

Britax Regent

I love the Britax Regent car seat. BIG and roomy for my 42 lb. 2 1/2 year old. I initially bought the car seat because you can use the 5 point harness up to 80 lbs. which I'm told is safer than using the regular car seat belt. I would highly recommend this car seat to everyone.

The big girl seat

We bought the Regent to replace our Roundabout that was getting too small. The Regent seemed like a good choice because it was useful through 80 pounds. That made it hopefully the last car seat we buy. Maybe that is why it's so popular and was backordered when we ordered it. It took about a month to get it, but it was worth the wait and EliteCarSeats was great at giving me the order status. The Regent was easy to install and has all the adjustment needed to keep up with our two year old. I can't think of anything wrong with it. I wouldn't change anything except to make them faster to keep up with demand.

Peace of Mind for Squirmy Kid's Mom

I did a lot of online research before I decided on this seat. It was well worth the money. We are very pleased with the cushiness and how well it keeps our not-so-little almost 3 year old secured. I had purchased one of those toddler-booster seats for her because she had almost outgrown her up to 40 lb. forward facing toddler seat. I think those toddler/boosters are totally useless unless your child NEVER gets upset while driving ! The Regent seat gives me peace of mind and my daughter loves it.

Another great Britax Seat! It is bulky so make sure you measure or fit it in your car before purchasing. My 3 y/o daughter loves her new carseat! The Madison print is so vibrant and colorful!

Awesome carseat!!
Reviewer: Katie , Sacramento, Ca

This carseat is fantastic. It is comfortable for my little one, and is definitely large enough to accomodate her as she grows. The shipping was quick...before I knew it, it was at my front door. ***The ONLY thing to be aware of is that you may need to get a 'seatbelt extention' which you can get from your car dealer for FREE. It gives your belt a little extra length in order to 'feed' the belt the long way (the safest way). My Explorer's carseat was not long enough to get it buckled, but with the extension it works perfectly. --->So I would recommend getting an extension while you wait for the seat to arrive. <--- ***
Again, totally pleased with every other aspect...great deal, great seat, great transaction!!

the BEST seat out there!!

After doing much research and learning about the safety of having our children in a 5 point harness for as long as possible, we purchased two Regents for our 4 year old and 7 year old...they feel like Queens sitting in their thrones! We also have our 14 month old in a Britax Marathon (rear facing) and will for a while longer. I highly recommend the Britax Regent and the Marathon. The Regent is HUGE so taking measurements for your vehicle is a must. We have an Expedition and our third seat is now a one seater! The Madison print is adorable as well:)
