Can't get her out

I left a review last year when I received my Regent and loved it. I wasn't sure about spending so much on a seat when she only had 14 more months in it but reasoned my son could use it for 4 more years when she finally hit the age and height restrictions in our state. Well she turns 8 in two weeks and doesn't want to give it up. She says she will not be able to sleep in just a shoulder harness on the long rides to grandma's, and since she is a small child I'm betting she will fit in in for another 18 months. So I guess I will have to buy one for my son and my niece will get hers when she finally outgrows it.

SUV Not Needed

It is not true that you need an SUV to have this car seat. We drive a 2007 Altima and it is a perfect fit for our 5yr. old son. We love it so much that my family has purchased 3 seats so far. One for our car, my mother in-law's, and my son's great-grandmother. My mother is about to purchase one as well. He feels like a real big boy in this seat. Also, for those concerned that their seat is not in tight enough, there are car seat technicians that will do a safety inspection on your seat after installing it. Call you local fire department to find a technician in your area.

Rock Solid Regent!

I purchased a Regent to install in my Hyundai Santa Fe for my 8 year old nephew. He's tall but very thin. He loves his seat! It's soft and comfortable and it feels good to know that he is safe. It took me about 10 minutes to install, but it was pretty simple. It's installed with lap/shoulder belt and top tether and it doesn't budge! And he doesn't see it as a "baby seat" because of it's size and shape. Thanks Britax for keeping us safe wherever we go!

This is the BEST carseat!

I'm buying a 2nd seat for husband's car. This is the BEST seat ever. My daughter is 12 and disabled and she still fits great! It's big and bulky, but very easy to install. (I've been taking it in and out daily for 2 months now!) For those that are having a hard time installing it I highly suggest you purchase a "mighty tight". They really help cinch the seat in.

Great Carseat

We bought this for our 3 year old as she just outgrew her Roundabout, which we (and she) loved. We are extremely happy with this seat for it's safety and comfort, and she loves it too. She finds it very comfortable, and with a neck pillow, she naps just fine in it. Only con is that it is huge, and not the kind of seat you want to transfer between cars, but that is not a common concern for us. We had no problem fitting it in our cars (but we have a Honda Odyssey and a Toyota 4-Runner). Highly recommend this seat, and we will buy another one when our next child is ready. Found the experience of buying this seat from Elite Car Seats to be great too. Helpful information online, and fast shipping. Thanks !!!

fits my camry with enough room (tight)in the back for 2 other ppl. installs like any other car seat: if there is slack, tighten the belts. never had any problem installing. huge and heavy but trivial complaint for giving your child the safest seat available.. i recommend this seat to everyone i know. simply the safest, most comfy seat out there!!

Excellent Car Seat

This seat is very comfortable for my tall 3 year old and, although large, fits easily in my full size SUV as well as my husband's 4 door sedan (we bought two). Based on the other reviews, the seat exceeded my expectation, with the only drawback being that it is very heavy which will make it difficult to take along when traveling by plane.

Saved my Son!

We had a accident on 4/22/08. A 17 year old boy who just had his license for a month wasn't paying attention and hit us in the rear. We were driving a 2001 Focus ZX3 two door hatchback car. My son was asleep in the back seat, buckled up in his Britax Regent car seat. The boy who hit us left a 94 foot black mark before hitting us, going at 45 - 50 MPH. We hit the truck in front of us, and had enough force to bounce back and hit the boy's car who hit us. My little boy came away with a little whiplash. The EMS and hospital said that the car seat was what saved him from being hurt. The car is mashed in the rear so bad you can't even get the spare tire out. Thank you Elite Car Seats for selling us a wonderful product. We are considering getting another car seat for our other vehicle, so we have one in each car. Believe me this car seat is really heavy, but to save my son or any child is worth every pound! Thank you again.

We love, love, love this carseat. It fits great in my Ford Taurus and my 3 yr old loves it. We moved our son from a Britax Marathon so that his baby brother could use it. It is a very large carseat and I think if you have a smaller vehicle, it probably won't fit.
