The BEST

While most of my six year old's friends are in flimsy boosters, I feel so grateful for the Britax Regent's ultimate protection of my growing child. With all the safety features that matter - five point harness, LATCH (can be used up to 48 lbs, use tether after that), EPS foam and all the features Britax is so well-respected for, you can't go wrong putting your precious cargo in the Regent!

My child loves the fact that is looks and feels like a "big kid" seat - wide, heavy (not airline approved and you wouldn't want to transport it anyway) and fits solidly as a rock in the car. Your big kid can climb in/out/all over and this thing won't budge! If NASA made a car seat, this would be it! The built-in netted cup/snack holders on the side are fun and easy for kids to use, and you'll appreciate the quick one-hand adjustability of the straps when buckling your child in. People are always impressed when they see and feel this heavy-duty seat, and for good reason...it is like armor for growing kids - all the safety features that your child still needs and deserves and that every parent really wants. An extremely worthy investment and one you won't be sorry for the moment you take it out of the box!

Very pleased w/purchase of Regent...

I recently purchased the Britax Regent carseat for our almost 5 year old son, who is 43 inches and 34 pounds. After speaking w/the someone at Britax and Elite Car Seats, I decided to go w/the Regent as opposed to a booster seat. Both said that while boosters say 30-100 lbs., it is recommended that they be closer to the 40 lb. mark. I also found the same after researching online a bit.

The seat itself is BIG as I had read - and of course, the good folks at Elite Cars made sure I was aware of this before purchasing. I, personally, found it hard to install at first in our '96 Jeep Sport - we put it in the middle & used the tether anchor - but my husband was able to get a tight fit right away. We also have a '02 Grand Cherokee, and have to use it on the right passenger side backseat since there is no tether anchor in the middle and one cannot be installed (according to the Jeep dealership), due to the spare tire being where it is. This was a disappointment, since this is the car we'll be driving most. It is not as easy as other seats to transfer from car to car.

Overall though, I really like this seat and am pleased with it. My son loves it, it is big and very comfy for him. He doesn't mind being in the 5 pt. harness at this point, which is a plus! I like the fact Britax makes a seat like this, as I know my son is much safer being in a 5 point harness for as long as possible.

I want to mention how very helpful, friendly and knowledgable the employees of Elite Cars are. I called before purchasing, and a couple of times afterwards w/questions. The particular lady I spoke with also emailed me helpful information she found after my call, and just couldn't have been nicer or more helpful - how many companies take time to do that?! I cannot sing the praises of this company & its employees enough. They went above and beyond, and didn't seem to mind at all that I called w/questions! :) Extremely helpful and very customer-oriented company. Order w/Elite Cars, you won't be disappointed!

Pros: 5 pt. harness for older child, very comfy seat, ease of use getting son in and out - no tangled straps, has mesh pockets on the side to store small items, & it's Britax - what more do I need to say? Tops in safey & comfort! Cons: big seat - make sure your car can accomodate (Elite Car Seats can help), harder to install at first (my car does not have LATCH), it's a bit bulky to get in & out of vehicle, and the price may seem a bit high compared to the boosters, but the safety of your child is something you cannot put a price on!!! My son and I both love this seat, & I would highly recommend and would buy again. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is b/c of the difficulty I had at first getting the seat installed... but it CAN be done!

very nice carseat. I bought it because I wanted a carseat that would last for many years. Installing I did have to use my husband to pull hard to get a snug fit.this carseat is heavy but can be still be managable. I didnt us the recline bar because my backseat didnt recline. I think this will work well my son outgrew his second infant carseat at seven mns. he is 16mns old and 34 1/2 inch tall and weighs 25lbs he was to tall for other carseats

Safety for your

Safety is the one reason to spend the $ for this seat. The 5 point harness restrains big kids until they weigh 80 lbs. It can be used in the center of the seat of my SUV, unlike shoulder belt seats. Comfort is another strength of this car seat. It is the only car seat my kid has really been comfortable in. I Should have bought the smaller Britax when she was smaller. It would have saved us a lot of whining. This seat is big, not the seat you want if you have to move it often. A great seat, even with the price and size. My 4 year old LOVES it, and we love the safety.

Britax Regent

We purchased the Britax Regent after our daughter (2+yrs) outgrew the height reguirements on the Britax Roundabout (which we just loved!). We researched and read many reviews of the other Britax models and decided on the Regent for many reasons; I'll just name a couple. It was the only seat that offered the 5 point safety harness with a height and weight (80lbs) requirement that would grow with our daughter for the duration of her needing a carseat. This means we would not have to purchase another seat for her. So, paying a bit more will pay off in the long run for the years we will use it and the safety and peace of mind it will give us knowing she is safe. It doesn't have cup holders or snack cubbies but we don't miss them. It does have mesh pockest on each side that we put books, sunglasses and whatever little trinket she wants to bring along. I do recommend measuring the seat. It is a bit larger than most, but fit fine in our 2000 Impala and now our 2005 Toyota Sienna. She has room to sit cris-cross-applesauce, if she chooses too. We are very pleased with the seat and she loves climbing into it herself each time we go somewhere. Britax is a sound name in carseats, we have been so very pleased with both of our seats!

As safe as possible

Five years ago my three year old Granddaughter was killed in a car accident. She was in a correctly installed (what her parents thought was safe) car seat. As we learned the hard way all carseats are not made equally. After much reserch my daughter learned of Britax and the extra standards its seats have to meet. This is my second Britax and the fourth in the family not to mention all the others purchased by friends and extented family as they learn of Britaxs high standards.

We bought this car seat for my 2 year old son. WE LOVE IT. He sits in it and looks so comfortable and layed back. It takes a little time to get it in the car and straped tight but it is well worth the money. This will be the last seat we have to buy him. I will for sure be buying another one for my daughter when she is ready. I highly recommend this seat

My 3yr old has been in the 95+ percentiles since she was born and has outgrown all other seats. The Regent is nicer than I imagined it would be and it will take her all the way to 80 pounds or until a booster is an option. This has been a lifesaver! It's also reletively easy to install and the cover is machine washable.
