Great car seat

Very comfy for my 18 month old twin girls. Expensive but worth the money.

Great seat, but to 65 lbs?!

I bought this seat for my 6 month old when she grew out of her infant seat. It is an enormous car seat, but I liked the safety features - specifically the head side impact protection and at the time, this was the only convertible seat that had it. My daughter has always loved it. We travel a lot and I let her have food and drinks in the car. This seat is very hard to clean. I eventually just bought a new cover (cuter design than our first one), but at $70 a pop, I wont be doing that very often. It's also difficult to get all the stuff that falls inside of it out. That being said, I install this seat in other cars all the time and I have never had a problem. The guys at our fire department were impressed that I got it so secure. One wish was that the buckle that connects the shoulder belts in between the kids legs needs to either be further away, or they need another slot for the older kids. It's hard to believe that we will use this seat to 65 lbs. My daughter is 2 1/2, 37" and 32 lbs. That buckle between her legs is already becoming a problem because we can't get the belt secure enough without making her uncomfortable.

I bought this seat when I was pregnant for my daughter... I knew that I didn't want to use an infant seat because they are heavy and awkward for me - especially since I'm tall and trying to crawl into the backseat of my car to get one of those out of the center seat is not easy! I also knew that the likelihood of my baby being tall was high - so since most infant seats have a rather small height limit - I figured I'd only get a couple months use out of one, so I never even bothered....
It was a GREAT decision!She was over 27 inches at just 4 months! I LOOOOVE this seat. It is really cushy, my baby loves riding in it. It was super easy to install and it even fit in the center back of my Kia Spectra (it won't fit on either side though without preventing use of the front seat that it's installed behind)... But it will fit on the sides once it's used in the forward facing position. We NEVER had a problem with her head flopping forward - we made sure we put the seat at a 45 degree angle and it's been great. The only thing is - I don't think this is a true 5-65 lb. seat because my baby was born at right around 7 1/2 lbs.... and 22 inches tall! and the shoulder harness at the lowest level was just BARELY a safe height according to the instruction booklet... so if your baby is shorter than that, you might actually need an infant seat first.
I love how I can adjust all the harnesses easily without having to remove the seat from the car!

I just wanted to comment that my daughter has been using this seat since we brought her home from the hospital, and it has been great. Another reviewer said that their infant's head flopped around -- we did not have that problem, and it was a nice, tight fit from the start. I couldn't be more pleased with this seat and like that you can tether it down.

Wonderful car seat...very comfortable for my little 10 month old. The padding is great for comfort, as well as safety!
we liked it so much, we bought 2! We did have an issue fitting the 2nd one in my husbands Cadillac Escalade EXT truck, but managed to get it in snug.

We Love this seat!

We love this seat. We bought it before our daughter was born and she is still loving it at 13 months of age! As a newborn she fit in it perfectly (an 8 lb. baby) and now at 13 months (18 lbs. & 30 in. long) she still fits comfortably rear facing. If we ever need her to sleep all we have to do is put her in this seat and she knocks right out - sometimes before we get out of the driveway - a true life saver! I would never purchase another brand, this seat has it all...safety, security, comfort, and we have piece of mind.

i bought this car seat a year ago for my son who is now two. he's loved it from the start. it was very easy to install and also fits snuggly in the seat and seems to be very safe. the only things i would change would be to make the buckle between the legs adjustable or to move it an inch farther out all together, and to make it easier to clean. the cover is pretty hard to get on and off and the seat itself, once stripped, has several very hard to reach places. over all though, we love britax and will be buying another one soon.

We couldn't be more satisfied with our Shannon Blvd. I really wanted to find a seat with side impact protection & this fits the bill. Love the girly print, but most importantly we love functioning of the seat. The ease of install is fantastic- I've had another 'high end' convertible & the Britax install cannot be beat. The HUGS systems is great - we don't have any trouble with the straps twisting. If you're worried about the wings being too restrictive - don't be! We moved our 1 yr old daughter into this seat & kept her rear facing & the wings are great - she can lean on them to sleep. She was in a Britax infant carrier & is much happier during car rides in the Blvd. The infinite headrest and harness adjuster are fantastic as well. I researched & researched & tried a couple of other convertibles & have ultimately been very pleased with the Blvd. We have another one in our 2nd car if that helps drive home the point that I'm completely satisfied. There are other great companies out there but Britax's commitment to child safety & ease of install is definitely in a class of it's own.
