Reviews for Britax Marathon convertible car seat
A Must Buy!

We purchased the Britax Marathon for my son when he was 8 months old. We kept him rear-facing until he reached the max weight for rear-facing at 2.5 years old. Now 4, he rides front-facing and still has a lot of room to grow. We bought the denim cover and it still looks great. It has been washed countless times, and like a pair of jeans, the denim has faded in areas, but I think the fading makes it look really cute.
We have driven all over the country and my son rarely complains of being uncomfortable. This seat is well padded and perfect for napping.
I love the rigid latch. I really didn't appreciate this until I tried to install my nephew's cheap Wal*Mart carseat and had a VERY difficult time getting a proper fit. The Marathon cinches down quickly and easily. Once installed, it doesn't budge. If your vehicle doesn't have LATCH, the Marathon has seatbelt lock-offs to help maintain the proper tension of the seatbelt. This has really been handy for us since my sister-in-law's car doesn't have locking seatbelts in the backseat. No problem for us, though!
In short, I can't say enough about the Marathon. It has been one of the best investments I've made. We have had 4 years of use from our Marathon and I anticipate at least another year before my son outgrows it.
Compatibility: This carseat has been installed with no problems in many different vehicles ranging from Toyota Corolla to Chevy Suburban. Actually, I have yet to encounter a vehicle in which I was unable to obtain a rock-solid installation.

I purchased the Marathon for my son when he was 6 months old. He was in a Peg Perego Primo Viago car seat, but he seemed to dislike the fact that he couldn't see out the window. I purchased the Marathon and we have had a happy camper in the back seat ever since. I love this car seat! We got the fancy couture model, and the fabric is fantastic! Very easy to clean spills out of. I love the LATCH system, which isn't available on cheaper car seats. It certainly makes moving the seat into a different car a breeze. I would definately recommend this seat to anyone I know. I will ceratinly purchase another Marathon for our next baby... whenever that may be! It is a pricey car seat, but there really is nothing more imporant than my child's safety! It is worth every penny in my opinion. My only negative comment is that the car seat is VERY heavy. When we travel, my husband has to carry the car seat and travel bag because it is a little much for me. A small price to pay I guess for such a wonderful seat!

I purchased the Britax Marathon carseat for my daughter 5 years ago and she still sits in it at age 5 and 40 lbs. My son is 2 1/2 and of course he had to have a matching one with the cowmooflage cover. The car seat sits higher than other car seats and they look safe and comfortable as well. We drove to Myrtle Beach from Ohio twice in these car seats and the kids slept the whole way without complaints. Definitely highly recommeded and five stars!

Great Carseat, roomy and comfortable for baby. Only downside, if you have a Nissan Murano the strap to secure the seat goes directly across the back of the trunk space and interferes with the storage space. Not sure how this works in other SUV/crossovers

I have been using this carseat for about 2 months now and LOVE it! The print is really nice and my 10 mo 22lb Daughter seems very comphortable. Installed rear facing it is a little wobbly but with some modifications from my hubby we fixed that (all other seats seem to have the same issue too) I love the fact that my daughter will be able to use it rear facing longer due to the higher weight ratings and we don't have any trouble with the crotch buckle as some others have mentioned. I would give it 5 stars but it is on the difficult side to take the cover off and wash, and also that it wobbles rear facing. All in all though it is a little expensive but a great, safe car seat and I do recomend!

Britax Marathon Car Seat

I love the Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat. My 8 month old was around 20 pounds and 29 inches long so he was reaching the upper threshold for his infant car seat. Also he hated his infant seat because he was too scrunched up in it so I purchased the Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat after reading muliple reviews all praising this car seat and seeing how well it was rated for safety in Consumer Reports. The fabric on this car seat is really soft velour (I got the croccodile print) and padded much more than my son's infant car seat was. He has alot more room in this seat and it sits higher up so he can see out the window. I like that it can be rear facing until my son is one year old and then it can be forward facing. It is also nice to have the velcro on the sides to hold the straps while trying to put my son in the seat. With his infant seat I was always having to dig the straps out from underneath him and that just added to his frustration with being in such an uncomfortable seat. Overall this is a great seat that I hope to get many years of use out of.

I read reviews here before buying this seat. A little pricey, but worth it. No exposed foam like the Graco seat. You have to look -under- the seat cover for the latches, which threw me at first. I have no problem with the belts twisting as some reviewers did. My younger sister did when she buckled my daughter in. Pay attention and it won't happen. I have 7 siblings and remember many carseats. This is the nicest I've seen or used.

Great seat IF your car has child restraint latches

Don't get me wrong, we love this seat. It's durable, my son appears to be super comfortable in it and it's pretty light weight making it easy to move from car to car when necessary. Thankfully my husband and I both have new(er) cars now. Our previous SUV was a pathfinder that was a bit older and did not come with the child restraint latches. Unless you are a Yoga-pro or are ready to stand on your head while trying to figure out how the heck you're going to install the car seat...it's going to be a challenge. Either way, your top priority should be safety and nothing out ranks a Britax when it comes to safety. It's worth the buy and we wouldn't have gone any other way.
