Marathon Carseat

I bought the Mossy Oak Marathon carseat for my son who is 8 weeks old. My husband and I feel that this seat is way more safe than the infant carrier that he started off in. The seat is a little big but safety is most important. Installation was a little tricky but after using the seat we bought another one for our second car.

There's a reason they're so pricey

Yes, this carseat is sometimes the equivalent of a half a car payment, but you get what you pay for in so many ways: Maximum safety ratings, maximum consumer ratings, extra cushioning and comfort, simple design, ease of adjusting, and cute prints/patterns. My little girl loves the pink butterflies on her Mariposa. I recommend this carseat to anyone who can drum up a couple hundred dollars.

Another great Britax purchase.

We originally purchased a Britax Roundabout. The seat was getting close to being 6 years old so we decided to upgrade. We loved the Roundabout and LOVE LOVE LOVE the Marathon. They are extremely easy to install. Our little one loves riding in it, and does not create a fuss when we are on the go. Seems to be a very comfortable fit for him. I also feel secure in the knowledge that the seats will offer so much protection should we ever find our selves unfortunate enough to be in an accident. I am very happy that we were able to afford the upgrade to the Marathon. It is costly, but he will use it for quite a few years.

Life Saver!!!

I researched many, many car seats trying to find one that was both extremely safe & comfortable for my daughter. We settled on the Britax Marathon. Then the unthinkable happened and my family and I were in a tragic hit and run auto accident on the interstate. The vehicle we were in was a mid-sized SUV and we were hit with such force that we were thrown off the road uncontrollably & ended up flipping several times down a very steep hill. While I suffered a compression fracture in my lower back and my husband a torn shoulder, our 2 1/2 yr. was completely UNHARMED. Aside from the obvious shock of the accident she was completely kept safe and untouched. We were extremely thankful that this car seat held up under the worst of circumstances. Immediately after the accident we went out and bought her another Britax Marathon to replace the one that had been in the accident (we're taking no chances). I highly recommend this to anyone who is on the fence about this wonderful car seat. It's money well spent. I would rate it 10 stars if I could. It truly is a life saver!

Britax Marathon

I liked everything except it doesn't offer the option of moving buckle into different slots. My son probably will out grow the current placement of the slot before he outgrows the carseat itself. :-(

We purchased this carseat after our son outgrew his Britax Roundabout. We would have purchased this one in the first place, but it did not fit rear-facing in our import car at the time. I did A LOT of research on boosters, since our son was close to 40 lbs and ready for one, and I even purchased a different booster from Elite Car Seats, since I was looking for something a bit smaller profile. I returned that one for various reasons and came back to this seat. It is fantastic. It is our 4th Britax carseat, in fact, and I just have never found anything I like better than Britax products. PROS for this seat: 1) installation is a breeze. Britax seats all go in easily, in seconds, and with the tightest fit in the business -- the first time. When he outgrows the LATCH at 48 lbs, Britax seats are nearly as easy to install with a seatbelt; 2) it is super comfortable for my nearly 4 year old son and he can clip himself in; 3) the 5 point harness is great. We can use that until he hits 65 lbs or 48 inches in height. We figured it was worth the investment to have this great seat even though he'll outgrow it before too long. Then we'll pass it on to his baby sister; 4)I thought the bulk of this seat would be far greater than a booster with a back, but I was wrong. I can sit between this seat and our infant Britax seat with more room even than the Roundabout. It is a bit bulky for travel, so for that we just use a backless Graco booster that goes anywhere; 5) the quality of construction is top-notch.
CONS: the only negative thing about this seat is that he'll outgrow it before he passes the weight limit. At that point we'll probably go to the Britax Regent unless something new comes out on the market that meets all our needs. They say that any seat that meets the federal safety standards is safe and that no such seat is technically 'safer' than another, but a car seat is only as safe as the installation. We know ours is in TIGHT and that our son's 5-point harness is adjusted right and will protect him. What a great product! Thanks to Elite Car Seats for a website that helps you do research and for their shipping/return policy and customer service. Just bought a jogging stroller from sister company joggingstroller.com because of my experience here.

Great Car Seat

I am quite satisfied with this car seat. I had my daughter in the Evenflo Triumph - also a good seat - while my husband still had her in the infant carrier. Once she needed to move out of that, he got the Triumph and I picked out this because it was cute. The price is high but I think it is worth it. I really do not think any car seat out there is unsafe - but the "ease of use" with the Britax made the extra dollars worth it to me. The straps never tangle, the chest clip falls perfectly on my daughter who is petite and she just seems and looks very comfortable in it. I was also extremely satisfied with this website. Easy to navigate and the product arrived quickly. It made me wonder what takes other companies so long. I will definitely use elite to buy another Britax if I am blessed with another baby!

Great seat

After much hesitation and having bought several other car seats of different brands, I can certainly say I will never buy anything but a Britax from now on. We bought this to replace a Graco that was falling apart. It is so easy to use, the Latch works so smoothly. Thanks for a great product and great fast shipping and customer service!

Great Quality Seat

We were so impressed with the seat we bought 3 years ago for our first child that we ordered this one for our boy as he started to outgrow his infant seat. The seat is well constructed and the manual very easy to follow. Installation is a snap thanks to the loops sewn into the LATCH straps...even a relatively light person can get enough leverage to really snug the seat in. The included tether anchor was useful in our car in the rear-facing position to create an anchor point under the front seat. All in all, a great seat and worth every penny.
