After struggling with many other car seats, this is the one and the only one. It's well worth the money, slips easily from my car into my husbands, and comfy for the tot. LOOK NO FURTHER, this is the greatest!

Great car seat but word of caution based on experience

My husband and I are very happy with this car seat as we were with the Britax Roundabout. We are having another baby, so we upgraded to the Marathon for our 20 month old son, so the Roundabout will be a spare for our other car until he grows out of it (or the new baby grows into it). I would like to caution everyone about one aspect of the Marathon that is different from the Roundabout - the adjuster for belt tightness. On the Roundabout it's a button you have to push - on the Marathon, it'a lever that you pull up to adjust the tightness which is located under a velcroed flap of material. Here's the problem: While sitting in the car seat, fully strapped in to the proper tightness, my son can reach the adjuster lever under the flap and VERY easily pull up on it to loosen the tightness of the straps. I was horrified the first time he did it (I was clued in by first hearing him undo the velcro), but we decided that we would keep the seat and make sure he knows that's not something for him to touch. If that doesn't work, we may have to come up with an alternative seat, but I'd rather not because we are thrilled with this one otherwise.

Great seat but not for smaller cars!

No denying that Britax makes safe car seats. We used a Roundabout with our first son and just ordered a Marathon for our second son. Unfortunatley we just exchanged the Marathon for a Roundabout. Why? It's just too huge for rear facing in our 1999 Volvo XC Wagon. In the rear facing position (even in the center seat) it forced the passenger seat so far forward that it made entry and exit from the vehicle all but impossible. As well, the front passenger seat was so far forward that it would compromise the safety of a smaller adult passenger should an airbag deploy. So, I'm really disappointed that Britax isn't doing a better job of informing prospective buyers of this seat's incompatability with smaller cars in the rear facing position. And a Volvo wagon isn't even that small! My two star rating reflects only that disappointment--if you have a larger vehicle or won't be using the Marathon rear-facing, go for it! (Course you still may be lugging around more seat than you need at airports, etc!)

The best car seat I have ever owned....

Like many people looking at this brand, my son is to big for an infant seat but to young for a booster. When he out grew his car seat we had to buy a booster it was a nightmare he was always climing out, unbuckeling himself and when ever he fell asleep his whole body would fall completly forward. I felt nervious driving the car because it looked so unsafe... He was always uncomfortable and tangled in the seat belt... I finally gave up and ordered a Marathoon, it arrivied supper fast and was a breaze to install it took me less then five minutes... It is a bit on the large size but It fits in both my Camery and Pathfinder. I recomend it for safety and comfort. Once I installed it I found that it was the most secure car seat I have ever owned, it did not move around on the belt at all. My son fell asleep ion it with out a problem and for the first time he did not lean forward at all his head went back and to the side... I love the seat and whished I had known about it sooner, it is a life saver for safety and comfort.. I would recomend it to anyone....

WOW! Britax does it again with this great seat! My 2 year old daughter loves it and doesn't fuss when she has to get strapped in. The front harness adjuster is super easy to use. Very helpful here in Michigan where the weather can be unpredictable requiring frequent clothing changes. The padding is great and much more cushy than other brands on the market. All in all a great car seat and one of the safest on the market! Thanks Britax for another great car seat!!

Susan mother of I.V.F twin girls. YIPPEE!!! We finally received our Britax marathons in ashley floral. Our 6 mo. old twin girls are in heaven. They are usually pretty good in the car but do have their moments. This week Tess who is my crier ( gets bored easily ) and teething has not cried at all. They sit in them and know that they are in a new seat almost as if they're in awe.
I have the latch system which is so quick and easy. These seats are in an

Excellent Seat - Very Sturdy!

I just purchased the Britax Marathon in the Houndstooth print. I must say, this seat is VERY strudy even when installed as rear facing. It took my hisband and I about 10 minutes to install and it was quite easy. My son is 9 months and was getting to big for his infant seat. I decided to purchase the Britax because my sister purchased this seat for her 2 year old son and has never had any problems with it. So having this first had experience with the seat, I felt very confident purchasing it for my son. I would recommend this seat to anyone. I love it!

Buying third Britax car seat the cadillac of all carseats
Reviewer: Anonymous , Amarillo, TX

I am about to purchase my second marathon. I also have a husky. I like the marathon because my son is 4 years old and he is too tall for the Cosco car seat I had before. He only weighs 35 lbs so he is too small for a booster. I have the husky for him in my car and my husband has the marathon in his. I am going to purchase a new marathon for our new baby who is also too long for his carrier. These are the best car seats!! My mom and mother-in-law have both purchased a marathon for their vehicles. I know they are more money but they are well worth the investment!!!

This carseat is the cadillac of all carseats
Reviewer: Emmas Mom in AZ , Phoenix, Arizona

This carseat is the best carseat I have ever owned. It is a big seat, but I drive a 2002 Honda Civic 2 door and it fits perfectly in the back. I have it in the middle and I have more room now then I did with my infant seat. I will never buy any other carseat! The installation for this carseat was not that easy for me, but it was well worth the effort and money.
