transport bag

Reviewer: Anonymous , San Diego, CA Date: March 20, 2010
I recently purchased a limited edition bugaboo treasu(red) stroller that came with a million accessories (rain canopy, extra canopy, and foot muff)--which I love! I bought this travel bag shortly after. I absolutely hate clutter, and having pieces everywhere, not to mention that I am not a fan of too many unecessary bells and whistles. That being said, I found that this bag was extremely well designed and constructed, had a pouch/storage area for each piece of my stroller, and was very compact (no unecessary junk). Everything fits in it with plenty of room. You definitely need to read the instructions first. My only complaint is that we spent a long time trying to figure out how to detach the rear wheels (which are not supposed to come off) and my limited edition stroller doesn't fit exactly perfectly in every pouch (but everything does fit in the bag well), as it is geared towards the frog, cameleon, etc. I still love the bag--it's perfect, and very sleek. I've seen so many parents struggling with their strollers at the airport, and I am anxious to see how this one holds up!

I like it

We were concerned about the comments that the bag was hard to use the first time around. So we opened it up and put our frog in it. 5 minutes (most of that time was just figuring out the wheels, since we had never took them off before). I didn't have any issues loading it up.

Bugaboo Transport Bag - Transport Bag

Reviewer: Jess Woodcox , Salt Lake City, UT Date: October 31, 2008
The Bugaboo Transport Bag conveniently holds the stroller and all it's parts keeping them nice and safe. The downfall is that when you want to use the wheels it has a rounded bottom and will not stand up on it's own - you have to lay it down on it's back or side. Overall, it travelled well and gives us an extra level of comfort.

Bugaboo Transport Bag - great bag!!!!

Reviewer: Gerhardt , Albuqueruqe,NM Date: June 27, 2008
The Bugaboo Transport Bag works great, and you can pack some of your baby's stuff in there before it reaches 50lbs. It is NOT a pain to put together at all despite some reviews I read on here, it was a snap(read directions)if you don't like to read directions you probaly shouldn't get any of the Bugaboo products anyhow. I love all of mine .......

The bag is excellent. There is no problem with the bag-the whole system is quite large and cumbersome.

Bugaboo Transport Bag - Good but not Great

3
Reviewer: Anonymous , Los Angeles, CA Date: January 17, 2008
The bag itself is great, it fits snug although it takes some practice. I know the bag kept the stroller nice and sturdy. The wheels are an absolute lifesaver, I just wish it would stand up on its own. It would also be nice if it had a retractable handle instead, it would make it easier to carry around. The other downside is that I've only used it once and the bag already has a hole in it, after ONE use! That's just unacceptable for such an expensive product. I wonder if it has a warranty?

This bag is great!

Reviewer: Kristen , Atlanta, GA Date: November 25, 2007
I bought the transport bag for our first airplane trip with our nearly one year old son. The bag was easy to use and protected our Bugaboo Frog wonderfully. We gate checked the stroller and bag on the first leg of the trip and checked them as luggage on the way back. No problems either way, although I do recommend checking the stroller and bag as luggage as much easier. It can be pretty hectic trying to break down the stroller or assembling it at the gate in the middle of the airport with a cranky kid. One note: when we checked the stroller as luggage, it came out at the "oversized luggage" area at our destination. No big deal, but it gave me a mini heart attack when it didn't come out with the rest of our luggage. We had no problems getting our Frog into the bag. The diagrams on the inside of the bag are really helpful, too. I definitely recommend practicing at home before your trip to avoid trying to figure out the details under pressure. I enthusiastically recommend the Bugaboo Transport Bag. You need this if you want to take your Bugaboo on a plane!

WORTH THE MONEY IF YOUR BUG DOUBLES AS A TRAVEL CRIB

5
Reviewer: Dan , New York City Date: October 27, 2007
I was annoyed that my girlfriend bought this expensive stroller case without my permission. $160 for a travel case?! But I have to say, it was a brilliant purchase considering we used our Cameleon as a crib on vacation. And thanks to this case, our "crib" was as good as new after the baggage handlers had their fun

Bugaboo Transport bag

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Saskatoon, SK Date: October 19, 2007
As we were checking in, we had the misfortune of being told that Air Canada no longer allows gate check for larger strollers. We therefore had to check our stroller in the regular way and even though it went in through special handling, it came out on the conveyor belt just like everyone else's luggage. The bugaboo stroller is great but it will break if it is thrown through the baggage belts! Sure enough, one of the wheels snapped off. We now have the transport bag which seems to protect the stroller pretty well. It's well worth the cost especially considering how expensive the stroller is!!!

07 Transport Bag

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , Charleston, SC Date: August 17, 2007
The 07 Bugaboo Transport bag worked very well. It held our Bugaboo quite snugly and everything arrived in one piece. My only complaint is that it has already torn on the inside of the bag. For something that costs more than some strollers do, I would have liked to have seen it a bit more durable.

bugaboo bag

Reviewer: Anonymous , California Date: July 04, 2007
I actually have the older version of the bag (would have been nice to get this one, but it was not out). I love it! It actually really protects the stroller from damage in the back of my Suburban, and I keep the stroller in it to protect it. Why pay so much for a stroller and not take every measure to protect it? The first time putting it in is very daunting, but you get used to it.

Great Bag-Great Shipping & Service

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Chicago, IL Date: May 26, 2007
If you can't imagine traveling without your bug then this bag is a must. I agree that you should practice packing your bug at home a couple of times before you goto the airport. If you wait then you will be very frustrated and feel like a fool in front of the gate person. Once you get the hang of it at home, packing the stroller at the airport is easy. Also I must add that the customer service and shipping from this web site is exceptional. I placed my order over the phone and the service rep was very nice and helpful. We got our delivery one day after we placed the order. I will certainly order my next bugaboo accessory from your site. Thanks!

first bugaboo carrier

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , mountain view, Ca Date: May 11, 2007
i bought the earlier version of the bugaboo carrier and this one sounds much better since they've added wheels: a definate neccesity. The earlier version's handles cut into my hands and was really unwieldy. FYI: we travelled overseas and each time our carrier got "lost" through Heathrow possibly due to its irregular size. Also had to check it on as oversize or "irregular" luggage.

Almost Perfect

5
Reviewer: Terry , Boston, MA Date: May 03, 2007
We always assumed that when we bought our bug, we would get one of these. However, a few of the reviews were somewhat offputting, until I thought about the possibility of the bug being trashed by baggage handlers, and the investment seamed worth it. In retrospect, it was worth every penny! I didn't encounter any of the problems I'd seen mentioned by the tight fit, but would echo the advice that people should play with it before using it at an airport. I did find that if you are transporting other bits as well (I renectly took the bug transatlantic with a foot-muff) then it can be a tight fit, but once I extended the handlebars (on the chameleon) the fit was much better. The wheels are sweet - but necessary as I carried this a couple of times on the shoulder (rough ground and/or stairs) and while this is managable, I woudln't want to do this for long. Though I gave 5 stars, there is always room for improvement; it would have been nice to be able to stand it on its end. You can do this if you lean it against something (though admittedly there may be a safety issue there), but generally you need to lie it down. But I can't stress enough how easy to pack and to use this was, and the padding was reassuringly thick.

I Loved this Bag!

5
Reviewer: Susan V. , Oxnard, CA Date: April 28, 2007
When we were trying to make the decision as to whether or not to purchase this, we read the reviews from a couple of websites. Many of the reviews were discouraging but we took a chance and purchased it anyway. In the end, it was a great decision. Many of the reviews thought it was initially difficult to pack the stroller because the material was way too snug due to the fact that the material was not "broken in". We didn't have that problem at all. We thought it was EXTREMELY easy to pack. We loved the fact that it can fold compactly when not in use. The only thing we found a little difficult to use was the canvas pull handle. When wheeling the packed stroller around, it would've been better if it had the rigid metal pull handle you would find with any wheeled suitcase but its understandable why you can't have it or else it won't be foldable and compact when not in use. Regardless, it was well worth the investment. We highly recommend it. It is a very small price to pay for such a valuable stroller.

A must if you fly anywhere!

Reviewer: Maria , Paynesville, MN Date: April 21, 2007
I purchased this bag so I could take my Bugaboo International, but not have to check it at the gate (they beat on those strollers!), and the bag held up wonderfully. My stroller was like new when I arrived in Frankfurt! Also the bag is easy to wheel around and carry, light, and well padded. I had no problems fitting my Cameleon in the bag. After reading that it might be snug, I packed it a day or so in advance, expecting a slight struggle, but really, I had no problem at all. The only thing I wish for would be that the bag would be a little sturdier so I wouldnt have to wonder if my stroller is on the bottom of something heavy, but I did not expect that from this particular bag.

Comments from The Staff:

Thank you for your review! This bag is indeed great for travel and the wheels on the new bag for 2007 is ideal!

I love the Bugaboo Transport Bag!

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Boston, Massachusetts Date: April 06, 2007
I was so nervous about traveling alone with our three month old daughter but the Bugaboo Transport Bag made the journey through the airport easy and it kept our beloved Bugaboo safe.

Because my husband wasn't there to carry the heavy carseat through the airport, I snapped the carseat onto the Bugaboo frame and pulled the rest of the Bugaboo in the Transport Bag behind me. At the gate, I removed the carseat and put the Bugaboo frame and wheels into the Transport Bag and gate-checked it. It was so simple and the Transport Bag was remarkably easy to maneuver.

I highly recommend the Transport Bag but I also recommend practicing disassembling your Bugaboo and inserting it into and removing it from the Transport Bag several times before your trip. I practiced the night before I left and I felt like an expert when I got to the gate!

The Bugaboo Transport Bag is so sturdy and well-made. It will definitely last for the life of the Bugaboo...and maybe beyond! Highly recommended!

Comments from The Staff:

I totally agree - great accessory, but you have to put the stroller in it, and leave it overnight once or twice BEFORE your trip. It can be a struggle to get the stroller in the first time. The idea of this bag, is to fit over the stroller like a skin, to prevent any of the parts from banging against each other, preventing breakage.

Woth the cost and the wrestling

5
Reviewer: Sawyer's Mommy , Atlanta, GA Date: March 23, 2007
Here's the thing--nothing will protect your Bugaboo like this bag will. And, if you love your Bug like we love ours, you will want to protect it. I considered buying a less-expensive generic bag for our recent trip from Atlanta to Park City...but then my neighbor took her Bugaboo in a generic bag, and USAir destroyed her Bugaboo during loading/unloading of the checked baggage. I immediately decided to pony up the extra cash for the Bugaboo bag. When I got it home, I was surprised by how large it is, but also impressed by the padding and the engineering of the bag. It's true--it DOES take some wrestling to get your Bug into the bag the first time. But, as other reviewers have written, it does loosen up over time, and it holds your Bug tight like a protective hug. Long story short, our Bug came through the checked luggage process safe and sound. We couldn't be more pleased. And, the new and improved bag has the wheels on it, which is a real convenience when you are struggling with luggage and baby gear. All in all--if you're a Bugaboo lover and a traveler...well, you have to have this bag, hands down.

Reviewer: kiki b. , tampa, fl Date: March 14, 2007
This is a great bag. it's very padded and transports easily. i had no trouble packing all the parts in. the diagram on the inside makes it very easy to follow. we travel a lot and love our stroller, so we take it everywhere with us. it's definitely peace of mind knowing that it's safe in the bag. although pricey, i think it's definitely worth it since it's protecting such an expensive stroller!

stroller travel bag

1
Reviewer: Anonymous , Wilton, CT Date: February 16, 2007
Don't waste your money. It's too small and if the stroller is not prefectly place you will never get it in. Also, the instructions on their web site is not very helpful also.

Comments from The Staff:

I actually kind of agree. The first time you're putting your Bugaboo in the transport bag, it's a pain in the rump to get it to fit. After the bag has been used a few times, the material loosens, and it's much easier. But, if you're leaving on an airplane trip, and you're trying to get your stroller in the bag in the security line for the first time, you're going to pull your hair out.

We always advise buyers to have the stroller packed the night before - as it will be a feat to get it packed the first time. This stroller is so expensive - when Bugaboo was designing a stroller bag, they wanted to make sure to design one that would allow little to no movement, so that the stroller had no chance of being damaged while in transit.

I know it's inconvenient...but hopefully this bag will enable you to transport your stroller without damaging it for years to come!
