The Perfect Solution

We recently purchased two Safeguard Go seats for our 3-year-old daughter who is tall for her age (outgrew her Roundabout, close on her Marathon). We bought a Regent. Yikes. Decided that we didn't like the Regent - it was ridiculously huge. I knew there had to be another product that suited our needs but was smaller. Well, we found it! I can't say enough about these seats. They fit it the car - TIGHT. There is no movement when installed correctly. I could never get the Regent in this tight, there was always some movement if I pushed on it...not so with these seats. They can be installed in a vehicle without the latch (with the seatbealt and a special attachment it comes with) but you do have to have the tether anchor if you are using the 5 point harness. I think that the best part about them is that they use your vehicle's seat back. In fact, I find this to be a very safe feature since you're using the seats that the manufacturer made FOR the vehicle, just modifying them slightly for a shorter person. They are easy to swap into Grandma's car. They are nice-looking. They are lightweight and can be baggage checked without lugging around a beast of a seat in the airport. I can't wait until my other daughter is ready for one! Goodbye huge bulky carseats - hello super safe hybrid seats! (As for that YouTube video circulating...this seat can be used with latch at a higher weight limit than the Regent - AND has a 5 point tethered harness. Is that safer? It just might be. It certainly seems like a good research project.)
Comments from The Staff:
That's a question we receive a lot - "Is it safer to use LATCH than to use my vehicles safety belts?" The answer is no, LATCH is NOT safer - it's simply easier, and more convenient to install your car seat with LATCH than with the vehicle's safety belts, in most cases - so it increases the chances that you'll install your child's car seat correctly.

With my middle daughter turning 4, I thought that I would get her a belt booster seat, and put my 1 year old in her sister's "old" seat. BUT, when I started researching, I became convinced that I wanted to keep my child in a five point harness for as long as practical (even though, my 10 year old used a booster seat with a lap belt, back then, there weren't any harnesses for more than 40 lbs). So, what originally started out as a $99 buy of a Compass (which, the four year old liked), a $129 Britax (which, I thought that the head support was flimsy), and the Recaro, which, was really plush turned into a $179 of the highest quality booster/harness seat available. I just could not shake the feeling she needed to be in a 5 point harness even though it is less convenient for ME as I am still strapping her in a five pt harness when I thought she would be using a seatbelt. But, this is a few minutes a day for an enormous amount of peace of mind. The Safeguard Go is wonderful. It was easy to set up, easy to adjust the straps, and does not move at all in my car. This will "fit" my daughter for a long time (we also tested the Britax Regency which was way too bulky and did not have a heighth advantage as well as the Radian 65, but, it did not have shoulder room or adjustable heighth like the GO does). I love the fact, that when it turns into a backless booster, that the booster seat is still anchored w/ Latch and there is a sholder strap adjuster. Plus, I like the way that the excess on the tether belt can be rolled up and velcroed. This is truly a solid seat. Plus, an instructional video was nice, but, this is so intuitive, it's not really necessary. Additionally, it does not take up hardly any room at all. (and, in doing research on booster seats, I decided to not give the old seat to the 1 year old and instead, purchased the Safeguard car seat.) These are truly the best products out there, in my opinion, which for the price, you would expect it. However, the company must feel that way also, as they have a crash replacement program as well as the longest warranty of any child safety seat.

took it out of the box and after a quick look at the instructions, it snapped right in....as long as one has a LATCH equipped vehicle that is.

Safe Safe Safe!

We bought our first seat in September and were really impressed. The seat does NOT move in the car. My son is securely fastened in the seat without being crushed by buckles or straps (especially in his crotch). I applaud IMMI's efforts to take advantage of the safety features built into today's cars. No other car seat on the market can claim that. One other great feature -- the seat conforms to your car seat. So if the seat back is reclined, this booster is reclined -- you adjust the top tether to match your car seat. Awesome for naps on longer car trips. I LOVE this seat! Oh, and so does my 3 yr. old son :-)

I was investigating 5-point harness boosters for my 3-year old daugher who is tall for her age. I wanted a 5-point harness for as long as I could get one and this seat is the perfect seat being able to keep her in that 5-point harness until she is 60 lbs. These booster seats are hard to find. Not only is it a very comfortable seat for her, it is very slim and easy to take with you. I am very happy with the purchase of this booster seat. Thank you!!

Great Seat

I am the father of a 3 year old daughter who is small for her age but did not fit well into a car seat or a booster. We tried a regular booster but she was taking the seat belt off which worried my wife and I. I am also a fire fighter and have seen many accidents with children involved. Children secured in proper seats have always done well. I have now purchased two Safeguard Go boosters and love the protection they offer. My daughter also likes the comfort of this seat. I found the seat easy to install and I like how it folds up for travel and fits into the nice case. The case will make taking it on planes very easy. We will use the Safeguard Go for along time.
Comments from the Staff: Thank you for the comments. We're really glad you like the booster. And just to clarify: The fact that it folds up into a small package makes it very easy to 'take' on a plane, but the Safeguard Go is NOT approved by the FAA for use on airliners.

I have a 2 year old son who was nearing both the 40 pound and 40 inches mark on his car seat, so I was struggling with what to do. I didn't think he was ready for a booster seat, but I couldn't find a booster with a 5-point harness or LATCH until this seat came out. This seat is comfortable for my son, was very easy to install, and does not budge in the car. My son has room to grow and this will be his future booster seat when he's ready. We did not buy this seat for the travel factor... to be honest, this seat will hardly ever leave the car, but it's nice to know we can travel with it if we ever have to.
Bottom line is this car seat/booster seat was exactly what I had been waiting for!!

I have to buy a new car seat for my son and think this one looks GREAT!! Haven't purchased it as yet and was wondering if anybody that has could give their thoughts on the product? Thanks.
Comments from the Staff: We just got them on our site a month or so ago, and we've sold quite a few. We will get in touch with some of the customers who bought one for feedback, but we wanted to give them some time to use them first. As you can probably tell from our review, we think the Go is fantastic. Thanks for the invite.

LOVE IT!

I was struggling to find a booster seat for our daughter that had a 5-point harness that would accommodate her height. The SafeGuard Go is the only one that has a harness for a taller or bigger child. It's very secure, compact, easy to install and use and our daughter LOVES it! I would highly recommend it. The only downside is that we cannot use it in my husband's car b/c it is not 2001 or newer and the vehicle must LATCH equipped.
Comments from the Staff: Thanks for the positive review! This really is a fantastic booster. As for your husband's car, you CAN use the Go, just not with the 5-point harness and backrest unless you have LATCH anchors. Please see page 59 of the Go's instruction manual. What the SafeGuard Go does require is an anchor for the top tether if you want to use the backrest and 5-point harness, otherwise it functions like a standard backless booster, requiring the use of a shoulder seatbelt restraint. Older vehicles without a top anchor or other LATCH anchor points can be equipped with them at a repair shop or car dealership, sometimes free of charge. It's definitely worth the effort.
