AWESOME SEAT!!

Reviewer: Katie Nash , LaPorte, IN Date: March 28, 2007
I was so excited to find this seat. My 21 month old is 39 inches tall and about 36 pounds. Needless to say, not many seats are going to carry him until he's 4 or 5. The Safeguard Go Booster very well may be the seat to do just that. The design is fantastic. Being able to separately tighten each of the latch anchors makes it a breeze to install. It is extremely portable and has its own carrying case (the whole seat in its case weighs less than the diaper bag!!) Instead of having a single strap to tighten your child into the seat, the Go Booster has a left and right strap, making sure your child is secure. The tether is very versatile and this seat will fit in just about any car. I've already tried it on three. The clasp attached to the latch straps is easy to operate (much easier than the hooks that other seats have). Spend the extra money to get this seat. The Britax is much more expensive and while it has a high weight capacity, it doesn't have an adjustable headrest, so it won't work well for tall children. If you have a tall child or a large child, this seat is the most flexible and adjustable seat I've seen on the market. We've been looking for a secondary seat (this one) for 8-10 months. I have an Apex 65 in my van (great seat as well, but very bulky and hard to install-once you get it in, you won't want to move it). Overall, the seat is fantastic and our family loves it!

We needed to replace our car seat due to our old one being involved in an accident. My son is almost 2 and weighs about 30#, so actually he was about growing out of his "convertable" car seat, anyhow. This car seat is everything it says it is! Easy to install, comfortable for your child, and able to grow with them! The main reason I picked this model is because it's the only seat on the market (that I found, anyhow) that keeps them in a 5 point harness till they are 60#. This seat is great, and I am very pleased with our purchase! EliteCarSeats was a nice company to purchase from, and had very quick delivery! Thanks!

Finally a decision.....

After researching seats for 2 years we finally decided on the Go seat. It was so easy to install. My daughter loves it. She has learned to adjust the headrest to fit her. She sleeps wonderfully. She is tall for her age and outgrew most of the other harness seats at 3 1/2 yrs, 41" and 32lbs. Do wish it had a cup holder, but thats ok. We are going on a road trip, so this will be the ultimate test. My only down side was fedex was a day late ;) I was just impatient. Also, ECS was awesome. They were so helpful. I am sure we will be getting another Go seat for my son when he is done with his Britax.

Good Seat

People need to keep in mind that this is a booster seat with a 5-point harness and not a traditional car seat. I've been using it for about 1 month now and its been great. Our Recaro Young Sport hit its 40 lb limit as a car seat and needed to be used as a booster seat. I'm not comfortable using the Recaro as a booster seat, I wanted the 5-point harness. The SafeGuard Go booster is just what we wanted for under $200. I managed to get it into the center back seat of our Gallant using a belt clip, the Mighty-Tite (this car doesn't have LATCH) and the top tether attachment. Its secure and our son claims its comfortable. You MUST have a back tether attachment to use this seat as a 5-point harness, otherwise its just a booster seat. The only improvement they might make is on the little side head rests. They are too small and floppy, if your kids goes to sleep their head might flop way over without hitting the side head rests. Other than that no complaints, great buckle system which tightens up easily. I have a feeling most kids will hit the height limit way before the 60 lb weight limit for this seat.

Great Seat!!!

We recently ordered and have been useing this seat and just love it! Before useing this seat, every car ride was a struggle - especially with winter coats. This seat has plenty of room and is very comfortable for my 3 year old daughter, and she is happy to get into it. We are so pleased with this seat that we are ordering another one for my husband's car. If you are looking for a seat that will grow with your child until they are ready for the regular car seat belt, this is it. My only reservation would be for people looking for a seat to fly with. This one is NOT capable; your vehicle must have top tether and latch capabilities (and airplanes don't). Over all, after lots of research, this seat has answered all of our needs.

Love the thoughtful design

Our child is 3 1/2 yrs old, 34" tall, and almost 40#... Too tall for the Brittax we had, but still light enough that he really needs a 5-point harness. As designers ourselves, we really appreciated the simple, compact design of this booster and the fact that we can fold it and travel with it - which we will do next month. Very easy to install right out of the box, and a good fit for my Impreza. We liked that we could use the LATCH. Only drawback would be that because it sits upright (like it should) his head really slumps when he falls asleep - easly remedied with a neck bolster. Again - love the design!

This booster is easy to install, easy to tote and gives me more piece of mind with the latch and 5-point harness!

As many of the other viewers, we also struggled with the booster purchase for our two and a half year old daughter. She is tall for her age, 42 inches, and weighs 37 pounds. After much stress and comparision shopping, we discovered the SafeGuard Go. What a great seat! The first time we put it to use was for an eight hour car trip. For the entire trip she reminded us that she loved her new "big kid" seat! Since then we have had the seat in the grandparent's cars, a Dodge Caravan and a Dodge Durango, Mom's 3/4 ton Dodge QuadCab and Dad's Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has worked equally well in all. We love the 5 point harness for the extended period of time. I know when I clip her in she is going to stay there. As mentioned, once the SafeGuard Go is installed it does not move...ever. I know it is more expensive than some out there, but it is safer and better designed than much more expensive models. Do not let the price tag put you off..this seat has all of the fantastic safety features that you need, your child can use it for a longer period of time (saving you the expense and hassle of finding a seatbelt booster), kids love it and it looks great too! You can't ask for more than that. Thank you to EliteCarSeats for the super shipping and great customer service.

The Right fit!

Reviewer: Bill Crow , Denver, Colorado Date: March 03, 2007
We purchased 2 Safeguard Go Boosters in December and we have never been so pleased with a purchase for our daughter. She is slightly above average for height and average for weight and this seat fits her perfectly. There are several adjustment points, including just above the shoulder, that ensure a good fit. The soft back of the seat fits nicely in the contour of your car's seat and does not create any awkward positions. Two different families that have seen our seats have purchased one for their own child. We are glad the 5 point harness is good up to 60 pounds and we can't wait to travel with it. The seat folds up small enough to go in the overhead bin or it can be checked. We have an 8 month old son and we will be purchasing this seat for him when he outgrows his Britax Marathon.
