Excellent

The car seat is great - my daughter loves it! I especially love how it reclines. That feature is great! I would recommend the car seat to anyone! I researched carseats to find one that is safe and comfortable and this carseat is both! :)

Good seat; not a lot of info available

Pros: reclining feature, belt straps, simple and elegant color options.
Cons: Installation somewhat difficult, little or no official crash data; poor level indicator
Overall, this is a very nice seat. My daughter appears to be very comfortable in it and it looks great. I like that it's a bit less expensive than the Britax models, but looks nicer. I can't say it was actually difficult to install in my 2007 Toyota Rav4. Even when properly installed (rear-facing), there is a lot of rebound which made me feel it was difficult to install (we kept trying to eliminate the movement of the seat back). I had it checked by a CPS tech to confirm it was installed correctly (it was!). I now know that rebound is normal in rear facing car seats unless you purchase a seat that allows you to tether it when rear-facing like the Britax and Sunshine Kids seats (why they can't state this in the owner's manual, I'll never understand). The other disappointing thing about the seat is that we can't recline the seat (again, rear-facing) now that the lower anchors are fully tightened. My hesitation in purchasing this seat was that it was very difficult to find crash data on it since it's only been available in the US since June 2007. I was able to find some information on the European and Japanese testing and the results were good. My final complaint is that the level indicator is a sticker that stuck on the side. Come one guys! Overall, this is a great seat for the price; I just wish it was easier to find information about it.

Best convertible car seat

I was looking for a convertible car seat that would securely fit in my Honda Civic Hybrid wich has limited rear seat space. At first, I thought the Britax roundabout would be perfect based on all the safety reviews out there but then I saw the Maxi cosi and compared them side by side and even my 15 month old prefered it. The Maxi Cosi in my opinion is defenitely narrower, more padded which makes it very comfy, safer considering that you can use this seat in rear facing mode until child is up to 35 lbs, has a 4 position recline option(which can also be used in rear facing mode) a big plus for long rides while baby sleeps, and it is way more attractive than any other carseat I have yet seen. When it comes to safety which is my main priority, I noticed that like most carseats proper instalation is key. I happen to use the LATCH in my car and the carseat sits tightly secured, does not even move! I liked that the Britax was a bit lighter in weight but other than that the Maxi Cosi Priori is a better seat. In addition, I do a lot of traveling and the Maxi Cosi is compatible with the GO GO Kidz Travlemate which I use to travel with a carseat, very easy to go on a plane. I ordered from EliteCarSeats.com because the store where I first saw this carseat only had one on display and I wanted a new one--That's when I discovered that this carseat comes in various fun colors. I highly recommend Elitecarseats.com for their informative website and timely shipping.

It was purchased for my 1 year old granddaughter to use while visiting me. There is nothing about the carseat that I don't like. It was money well spent.

We got this a few days ago and I quickly got to work setting it properly for my son. The instructions were not as easy to follow as I had read they'd be. The car I was installing it into does not have LATCH so figuring out what to do with the LATCH straps was daunting as they only give you a small picture and a large warning about not securing the straps causing danger. Once I enlisted some aide to install the seat things were smooth sailing! My son LOVES the seat and so do I. It has great safety reviews and it looks good. We are not a teddy bears and cutsie lambs kind of family so this seat fits us to a tee! Because of this great seat I have since bought the quinny zapp...for the next child we have we will certainly be investing in the maxi-cosi mico and the quinny buzz...we are in LOVE with this stuff now! Oh and the gypsy colorway is beautiful...the teal is brighter than I expected but we love it!

We love this car seat! The only problem we had with it was that it was much more difficult to install than we thought it would be.

I searched long and hard before purchasing a car seat. I chose to go with Elite Car Seats due to the shipping insurance. The seat was backordered over a month and their customer service people were prompt and polite when responding to my questions via email. With that said, the seat- I have a SUV and could not get this seat in properly using the LATCH system. We finally installed it using the seat belt. (this may have been my vehicle's fault not a fault of the care seat) I bought this seat because of the recline feature and the padding. I do not think it reclines much but my daughter loves it so my thoughts on that don't matter :) Other reviews mention strap twisting, I have had this seat two months and have no problems. I don't seem to have the color level indicator on mine either, maybe the description is wrong? Honestly my only con for this seat is that it can only be spot cleaned versus washing the entire cover, but I can live with that.

I am soo glad I have this now and could get rid of my Graco piece of junk. The Priori is very well made, very comfortable for my tall 6 month old. No more screaming his head off as I drive.. he actually sleeps in his car seat now! AND, doesn't sweat in it because it's made with breathable fabric. Also, the click in LATCH handles are soo easy. So glad it is now available in the States (especially considering that it is better than anything I've seen here)! We will be getting one for my sis in law for Xmas since she likes mine so much. Stylish, well made and comfortable. What more can you ask for!
