I love It!!

Reviewer: Tabitha , Phoenix, AZ Date: March 28, 2008
I love this car seat. We researched to find the safest and most reliable car seat. Graco and Evenflo among others have so many recalls I don't trust there brand at all. This car seat is more compact then the other convertible car seats. Our car is a Mazda 3 so we need a small car seat. The manual was more difficult to comprehend then our infant car seat (Peg Perrego, which I also recommend for infant seat) but we got it after a while. We love that the seat reclines for sleeping. This was recommended to me by someone and I recommend this car seat as well.

A high quality comfortable seat

Reviewer: James & Elaine , Newbury Park, CA Date: March 20, 2008
We bought the Maxi Cosi Prior convertible seat after researching various seats at stores & on the internet. The Britax seats were alluring but they simply seemed too bulky when we looked at them in person. The Maxi Cosi seat is well made and seems solidly constructed. The multi-level incline was a plus. We still have our daughter in the rear facing position for safety purposes. The seating position seems much more comfortable compared to a Cosco seat that grandma uses. Our daughter doesn't seem to mind being in the seat for relatively long drives. The seat was very easy to set up and install. Our cars are not large (Lexus IS & Acura TSX) and it fits without problems. The seatbelt-like LATCH system works great in comparison to the cheap hook/clips found in lower-end seats. The color scheme was pleasing to the eye, keeps cool in warm weather (we're in southern CA) and more modern appearing than others on the market. The only complaint we have is that there's no place for a cup-holder. We wholeheartedly recommend this car seat.

Shoulder Straps TOO SHORT!

3
Reviewer: Anonymous , Minneapolis, MN Date: February 28, 2008
I really liked this carseat when I first started using it, last summer, when I had a 7 month old in lightweight clothing. Now that she's 15 months and has been wearing sweaters and winter coats, the main fault of this carseat is now VERY apparent: the shoulder harness straps are FAR TOO SHORT for kids living in cold climates! It's a struggle to get her little arms in and out from the straps with all the winter clothing in the way. It will only get tighter as I have to reposition the straps to the next higher "hole" as she grows. A super carseat in regards to safety, strap holders, recline, LATCH hookup, etc. Just be wary if you'll be using it in a cold climate... I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to friends here in Minneapolis. I definitely prefer my Graco ComfortSport with the GracoPedic Foam over this one; the straps are extra long and my daughter seems to like it just as much as the Maxi-Cosi, and I bought it for $80 instead of $200.

Great and confy, not big enough

Reviewer: Anonymous , Atlanta, GA Date: February 28, 2008
The car seat is great, great colors, great design, very confy, but it does not fit my 2 year-old girl. I read the size specs and she is petite but still she did not fit. But I will recommended for smaller children.

We love the Maxi-Cosi car seat. It is a great color, easy to use, comfortable for our one year old, and is the most stylish seat there is.

The best car seat

5
Reviewer: Suzanne , San Diego, California Date: February 09, 2008
This is the best car seat we have owned. Our daughter loves going for rides and she looks so comfortable. Our last seat was a Greco and it was the worst. What a difference a car seat can make for road trips or errands about town. I am recommending this seat to all my friends. Why waste the time and money on cheap stuff when your little one can ride in so much more comfort and safety. It was worth every penny.

Good Car Seat But No Where to Store Excess Straps

4
Reviewer: Jolene , Grand Rapids, MI Date: February 06, 2008
Overall, this is a wonderful car seat. Very comfortable rear facing and I LOVE THE FACT IT RECLINES FORWARD FACING. The only problem is we didn't need to use the latch straps, and the diagram showing where to store them was NOT helpful at all. I'm still not sure how they're supposed to be stored to this day. If someone reads this and can give me some better instructions than what the manual did, I would sure appreciate it!

Comments from The Staff:

Hi Jolene,
I actually checked into this myself and you are right - it definitely is NOT self explanitory as to where the LATCH is supposed to be anchored when not in use. It took some time, but I figured it out. The Top Tether should be hooked on the recline prop/foot/base area - depending on which way you have this positioned - for forward or rear-facing use, the piece to hook the top tether on could either be towards the front (rf mode) or back (ff mode). It's just a simple cut out in the plastic. The Lower Anhcors need to be clipped to a small plastic notch along the back side of the seat shell - you have to lift up the cover to get a good look at them - they are towards the top of the seat on the back and don't really look like much but do secure the lower anchors when attached.
I hope that helps! Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Thank you,

NICE CAR SEAT

Reviewer: Anonymous , ANDALUSIA, AL Date: February 01, 2008
ALTHOUGH THE FABRIC IS NOT WASHABLE, IT IS VERY COMFORTABLE AND SOFT. I SPRAYED SCOTCHGARD ON THE SEAT BEFORE LETTING MY 7 MONTH OLD RIDE IT. SO FAR IT HAS HELPED WITH NO STAINS. THE RECLINED POSITION IS HANDY WHILE ON LONG TRIPS. I HAD A HARD TIME DECIDING ON THE MAXI-COSI OR THE BRITAX BUT SO FAR I AM PLEASED. MY HUSBAND HAD NO TROUBLE WITH THE LATCHES TO BUCKLE IT IN THE CAR. NICE CAR SEAT.
