One for the long haul

I wanted a car seat that would grow with my child - this one goes up to 100 lbs - simply because I don't own a car and wanted to get maximum use per dollar spent. This seat has been amazing. I've used the 'stage one' 5-point harness happily for two years (Zipcar 'n' rentals) and now that my 5-year-old is 44" tall I'm switching to the booster for the next few years. Don't expect your child to be able to reach the cupholder until this stage. The 3-position recline has been a godsend on long trips and I love that the armrests flip up when I'm installing it in a car or its passenger is climbing in. The only drawbacks have been taking the cover off for washing, and schlepping it to and from the rental locations (it's bulky). I'm buying a lightweight no-back model for quick trips around town which should fix that issue. Highly recommended seat. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND YOU'LL HAVE NO PROBLEMS!! The 5-point harness can be tough to release until you get used to it, but better than having small hands figure it out (as they so often do).

We got this carseat for our 2 1/2 year old. It is very frustrating to use some times. The belt you pull to tighten the harness gets stuck easily and won't pull out. You end up with a harness that is not tight enough. It is a battle that I am getting tired of fighting. The cup holder is of no use. It's too low to reach. I wish that I had gotten something different. It is very cushy so I think comfort is not an issue.

I love this car seat, as it is comfortable for my child and is pretty much user friendly. The only thing that I do not like about it is that is hard to remove the padding in order to clean it!!

I bought this car seat for my 4.5 yr old son. He is too skinny, weight only 34 but very tall 43" He is not ready for a belt position booster but too tall for most of the 5pt harness car seat. Then I found this one and it's max height capacity for 5pt harness is 54" I was quite disappointed to find that the seat belt is too short. I don't think it's max capacity is 54". I think 46" at the most. If you have a tall child and you want to keep him/her in a 5pt harness car seat, this is NOT the one. But overall, this is a very comfortable car seat. The quality of the material is excellent. Unfortunately I cannot use it.

Happy with my purchase!

I bought this car seat when my son out grew his Graco convertible seat. This seat is great because it grows with him, I dont have to worry bout the harness being too tight around him. My son is a pretty big 2 year old and this is seat is so comfortable. His height doesn't matter either because the harness grows with him. When ya have a 10lb baby ya gotta look for these things. If you are expecting a bigger baby check out the height and weight restrictions on EVERYTHING. You will not believe how fast they can outgrow a carseat! Check everything out then come back and buy this seat!! I am very happy with my purchase!

Comments from The Staff:

Thanks for the review! Two years old is pretty young for a booster - we'd recommend keeping your child in a 5 Point Harness as long as possible, it distributes the forces of a crash much more effectively for a younger child than the 3 point adult safety belt does. - Christina@NicheRetail.com - Call Center Manager/Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician
