Each year, the Juvenile Products Manufacturer's Association, Inc. (JPMA) sponsors Baby Safety Month to promote the safe use and selection of juvenile products. Begun in 1983 as a single day of safety awareness called Expectant Mother's Day, Baby Safety Month uses each day in September to bring awareness about baby gear safety to expectant and new parents.
Since 1962, the JPMA has encouraged testing and strict standards for juvenile products. The JPMA certification program ensures independent testing to confirm compliance with current safety standards. Look for the JPMA certification logo on your baby gear.
