Our Review of the Valco Matrix stroller
Price-conscious parents shopping for a swivel wheel stroller should check out the Valco Matrix. This single stroller is a simpler, less feature-filled version of the Valco Tri-Mode stroller, at a more attractive price. The Matrix's 12" air-filled tires provide a natural suspension for a smooth ride and the front swivel wheel can be locked forward for added control over rough terrains.
Standout Features:
- 12" air-filled swivel wheels offer smooth ride over all terrains
- Tire pump and front bumper bar included
- Full coverage canopy provides extra head room and sun protection
- Ergonomically designed adjustable handlebar for user comfort
- Large underseat basket & storage pocket on the back of the canopy
- Compatible with all the Tri-Mode Accessories
Benefits for You: Get the quality of Valco at a more pleasing price. The Matrix features a sturdy aluminum frame that can withstand a weight capacity of up to 48 lbs. Store your diaper bag and shopping bags in the large underseat basket, and all other odds and ends in the storage pocket on the back of the canopy.
Push with comfort thanks to the ergonomically designed handlebar that adjusts to accommodate the height of the driver. The 12" air-filled swivel wheels effortlessly glide over all terrains for a smooth ride. Carry the included tire pump with you at all times, in case your tires are looking a little low on air. Adapt the Matrix to fit your growing family with the Valco Tri Mode Toddler Seat.
Compatibility: With the corresponding car seat adapter, sold separately, the Matrix is compatible with the following infant car seats:
- Graco SnugRide
- Graco SnugRide 32
- Britax Companion
- Britax Chaperone
- Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30
- Maxi Cosi Mico
Benefits for Baby: The natural suspension of the air-filled tires makes for a smooth ride for your precious passenger. The padded seat easily reclines with one simple step to accommodate newborns, and sits fully upright for curious toddlers. A front bumper bar is included and provides a spot for little hands to rest or grab.
Get longer use out of your Matrix with the round canopy which grows with your child to provide extra head room. This full coverage canopy serves as a shade to protect your tot from the sun's strong rays. Valco has designed the Matrix with reflective accents to make you and your passenger more visible when strolling at night.
Comparison: If money is not an issue, upgrade to the Valco Tri-Mode. The Tri-Mode includes all the same features of the Matrix, and then some! Along with the front bumper bar and tire pump, it includes a rain cover, head hugger infant seat insert and removable zippered diaper bag.
Another comparable swivel wheel all-terrain stroller is the Tike Tech City X3 Single Stroller. Although the Tike Tech features a comparable price tag, it isn't available with as many accessories for customization.
