Our Review of the Valco Latitude Single stroller

Having scored a hit with their Valco TriMode Stroller, Valco trims down with the Valco Latitude Single Stroller. Lightweight at 18 lbs and folding compactly, the Latitude makes travel a breeze. Suitable for infants thanks to a flat recline and car seat compatibility, the Latitude gives baby a place to sit no matter where their travels take them. As with the TriMode, the Latitude comes complete with a bumper bar, rain cover, boot cover, and car seat adapter.

Is it for you? The Valco Latitude Single Stroller is for parents of one who need a lightweight stroller for travel or city use.

WHY YOU WILL LOVE IT

Moms and dads love the flat and compact fold of the Valco Latitude Single Stroller. When folded, the rear wheels can be used to roll the stroller behind you like a suitcase, perfect for maneuvering through airports. Parent friendly features such as a telescopic adjustable handle, roomy under seat basket, and included extras (bumper bar, rain cover, boot cover, and car seat adapter) make this stroller an excellent value.

Convenience: Traveling with baby takes a little extra work, and the Valco Latitude's tight fold and light weight make working your way through life's adventures that much easier. Use the stroller's rear wheels to easily roll the folded stroller wherever you go. Store the day's shopping in the generously proportioned under seat basket.

Comfort: Adjust the handlebar to your preference with the telescopic handle. No need to hit the gym before lifting the Latitude - at 18 lbs, your muscles can take a break. When folded, the stroller wheels behind you, eliminating the need to awkwardly carry it from the car. Thanks to the adjustable handlebar and nimble front swivel wheels, navigating the slalom of everyday life has never been easier. Lock the wheels forward for added control.

Compatibility: The Valco Latitude comes complete with a car seat adapter for the Graco SnugRide, Graco Infant Safe Seat (Step 1), and the Britax Companion infant car seats. Make your Latitude compatible with the Maxi Cosi Mico buy purchasing an additional attachment for the car seat adapter. The Peg Perego Infant Car Seat Adapter is sold separately.

WHY BABY WILL LOVE IT

Baby enjoys all the full-featured comforts of a larger stroller thanks to the cushy padding, flat recline, and adjustable footrest. An adjustable sunshade keeps bright rays from bothering your precious passenger. When wet weather strikes, cover the Latitude with the included rain cover. On cold days, the boot cover keeps tiny feet warm and toasty. A 5-point harness provides safety and security.

COMPARISON

The Baby Jogger City Mini Single Stroller offers a similar look and feel as the Valco Latitude. The City Mini strips 1 lb off the weight and folds by lifting a single handle on the seat, perfect for when you're juggling baby and stroller. While the fold and weight may intrigue some, keep in mind that the City Mini lacks an adjustable handle and that the front swivel wheel does not lock forward. Furthermore, the bare-bones City Mini requires the separate purchase of a bumper bar, rain cover, boot cover, and car seat adapter.

The quest for the perfect stroller....

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , York, PA Date: October 02, 2008
I'm really impressed by the service and delivery time of JoggingStroller.com and I'd definitely give them 5 stars... but the Valco only deserves 4 at this point. Pros: smooth ride, not too heavy, nice styling, and lots of "extras" included (bootcover, raincover etc.). Cons: when I initially set up the stroller, every time I collapsed it, the canopy came off (as another reviewer noted). However, unlike that reviewer, this was almost a dealbreaker for me (at $300 a stroller better function properly!). I called Valco and their moderately helpful customer service agent explained that you have to align the canopy a specific way and that it really requires two people to attach it the first time . The canopy has not come fully off since this fix (although it still slides a little). This (mostly fixable issue) along with a not-so-padded seat and challenging fold keep me from LOVING this stroller. Having said all this, I plan on keeping this stroller for now since it seems to meet almost all my other criteria in the quest for the PERFECT stroller for walks, shopping and travel. My recommendation: call Valco to get tips on canopy attachment and hopefully they will change this design flaw in time!

Best of bunch but still...

Got this stroller with my 4th baby - it's our 6th stroller, so I've got some experience! This is my favorite so far - way better than Peg Perego P3 and Graco MetroLite models we've had. LOVE the ride and steering - solid and well-made, smooth, easy to manuever, not too heavy or wide. Great with my 2-yr old or with the infant bucket seat. Two relatively minor but annoying problems... first and worst, the hitch used to keep the stroller collapsed is VERY hard to disengage even with both hands, and impossible to do one-handed (like when you're holding a child when getting off a plane). And second, collapsing isn't totally smooth - must use 2 hands, the canopy often slides off its bracket and must be reattached, and if the front wheel isn't exactly aligned properly the stroller won't collapse completely. If you're trying to wrangle kids while dealing with setting up or collapsing the stroller, these minor issues can be problematic. But that said, I'd still buy this stroller again!

I already own the Valco Trimode Twin stroller and I am in love with it but wanted something a little more light weight for errands with the kids and was thrilled when I heard Valco was coming out with a new lighter stroller! I ordered it right away and it is fantastic. It is easy to manuever, provides great shade from the summer sun, has an enormous basket for all my shopping and my kids love it! Great product!
