great idea BUT

These bags were great for the first trip, but on the way back started falling apart (zippers split, strap clips broke). They were wonderful when they worked, but just not durable enough for the rigors of travel.

Great idea, not durable!

I ordered two of these bags for my twins' seats, as I am active duty in the Air Force and travel often. After our first flight across the country, both of the bags had tears in the same spots- at the bottom bend on the side about 2 inches below the zipper snap, and at the top on the same side right at the curve by the headrests. From the baggage claim to the car rental counter, one support where the shoulder strap attached tore free. On our return trip, the other support strap tore free on one bag, and one support strap tore free from the second bag. Wow was I disappointed! But the seats (princess style and super cool) were both still clean when we arrived home. I realized that both bags tore where the loops attached to the seat are located. On our second set of flights, I passed the shoulder strap clips through the torn holes (I melted the freyed edges with a lighter), and I clipped my straps to the seats themselves while the bags were zipped. Taking the weight of these seats off of the bottom of the bag helped. We had no new tears. Although I wouldn't recommend buying these to cut holes through the bag and attach the clips to the seats, it worked wonderfully! The company needs to consider better reinforcement at the shoulder strap loops, as a mother of twins can't carry two seats by the handles, navagate a stroller, carry a diaper bag, and still show id at the security checkpoints.

Great accessory for traveling

It's a tight fit to get the Radian 80 into it, but it was an invaluable accessory for our recent cross-country flights. We use the carseat on the plane for our 4 yr old daughter, and it was easy to unpack & install the seat at the beginning of each flight. It was more of a challenge to uninstall and repack the seat into the case, but it was doable with plenty of time to spare. This product was well worth the price.

Must have!

I purchased this car seat specifically because of its portability when flying and this storage case is a must have if you are a frequent flyer. Straps on just like a back pack so both your arms can be free or you can strap it to use just over the shoulder like a regular bag. I carted around this car seat with ease as a backpack and it just made all the difference.

Zipper broke

1
Reviewer: Anonymous , Okinawa, Japan Date: July 27, 2007
I currently live in Japan and bought the Radian Car seat for my 1 year old daughter for it's compact size and for easy portability. I love the car seat. However, the storage case fits a bit too snug and is hard to maneuver over the folded car seat. On my most recent trip from Japan to the US, and after only the initial use, the zipper broke making the bag no longer useful. The car seat itself is excellent especially for those who travel a lot. However, given the weight of the car seat, a heavier better constructed bag is necessary to help with the ease of transport through busy airports.

Comments from The Staff:

The reason why they make it such a snug fit is so that there is less room for it to move around and become broken. We all know how rough those airlines can be on our luggage. It's not a common issue that comes up, I do know that if you contact Sunshine Kids and explain to them your situation, I am sure they would be more then happy to send you a replacement. Thanks for the review!

Radian Storage

Absolutely necessary for lugging that heavy car seat around. Can use as shoulder bag, carry by the handle or as a back-pack, although the buckles dig into your shoulder when you wear it that way.
