The Graco SnugRide 32 infant car seat stands out from the crowd because it is engineered for children up to 32 lbs and 32". Graco (link) asserts that the SnugRide 32 accommodates 97% of one-year-olds, thus ensuring your child remains rear facing for one full year. Add in a stay-in-car base, a level indicator for proper installation, and a 180 degree rotating canopy with a peek-a-boo window, and you've got one of the most well-designed car seats to enter the market in recent years. The SnugRide 32 takes the place of the 30 lb weight limit Graco Infant Safe Seat (Step 1).

Installation: The SnugRide 32 from Graco has a stay-in-car base that allows you to easily remove the carrier from the car without waking baby. Install the car seat using either your vehicle's seat belts or the car seat's LATCH connectors. The SnugRide 32 may be installed either with or without the SnugRide 32 car seat base; however, using the base makes achieving the proper rear-facing angle a whole lot easier.
A one-hand adjustment on the SnugRide 32 base helps you find the proper angle for your child's safety. A level indicator on the SnugRide car seat tells you when the car seat is at the correct angle. The base also includes an integrated belt lock off for easy belt installation.
Convenience: Aside from the peace of mind offered by keeping your child rear-facing up to 32 lbs, the Graco SnugRide 32 also includes one infant car seat base. Purchase an extra car seat base to keep in a second car for easy transport between vehicles. A peek-a-boo window lets you check on baby when using the SnugRide 32 with a car seat compatible stroller.
While the safety of a 32 lb weight limit infant car seat can't be beat, know that as your child grows, carrying the seat becomes more difficult. Graco includes an ergonomic handle to make holding the infant carrier easier, but there will come a point when carrying your child in the car seat becomes a bit too much. At this point, simply leave the car seat locked into the base and know that baby is safest rear-facing.
