Our Review of the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe stroller - Darius

Graco's line of "luxury" baby strollers is the Quattro Tour Deluxe series. These durable travel system strollers come on heavy-duty, welded aluminum frames wrapped in padded, eye-catching fabrics.

The Quattro Tour Deluxe - Darius is at the lower end of the luxury line (it's slightly lighter than the others are) and comes without a couple of the features** offered by the Quattro Tour Deluxe Rittenhouse and Tour Deluxe Milan models. The Darius is a choice car seat stroller for parents on a budget who need something that will last. It's infant car seat compatible (either the Graco SnugRide with EPS or Graco SafeSeat (Step 1)) and has a high weight capacity, making it a worthwhile purchase for years to come. The colors of the SnugRide Darius coordinate perfectly with this stroller.

The Quattro Tour Deluxe Darius has plenty to offer your baby or toddler. On the front end is a thickly padded seat that reclines to one of four positions, including a sleep-friendly full recline setting. The removable head support is great for keeping your infant comfortable while they develop, and the 3 or 5 point harness will keep a baby or toddler securely seated.

There's also a kid tray that will keep snack, drinks, and toys within reach of their little arms; it flips out of the way when they need to get in or out of the seat. The big canopy rotates 180° and has a peek-a-boo window for you to see through.

The frame of the Quattro Tour Deluxe Darius folds down flat with an easy one-handed gravity fold; just twist and let it drop, and you?re ready to store it in the trunk or closet. It's quad front swivel wheels allow the Darius to make tight turns in tight spaces, or lock forward for added control on longer strolls. Either way, the front shocks will smooth out the ride. Beneath the seat is a large lower-and-load storage basket that will easily contain all sorts of parental necessities, and there is a parent console at the handlebars with a cupholder and tray for your keys or phone.

Bottom Line: On average, Quattro Tour Deluxe strollers are rather heavy. However, they offer the highest weight capacity (50 lbs.) of any Graco single stroller. The Darius is the lightest of the Deluxe bunch (around 27lbs.), while still offering the same weight capacity and plush fabrics. The Darius is a solid choice if you're looking for a durable travel system stroller with only the necessary bells and whistles.

**The Darius does not the have the thickly treaded wheels or ComfortTracker digital time and temperature monitor offered with the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Rittenhouse or Tour Deluxe Milan

Versatility

Reviewer: Heather , Lexington, KY Date: November 15, 2006
I was given this stroller (in a discontinued pattern) by some friends who upgraded to a double stroller after the birth of their second child. At first I refused to use it thinking it was too big and heavy. After struggling with an Evenflo travel system I bought secondhand that has a harness that goes over the head on the car seat, which my son hates. And it steers badly. I decided to look into the Quatrro Tour stroller and the car seats it works with.

The Snugride car seat seems like a good deal, but for about $25-$50 more you can buy the newer SafeSeat Step 1 infant car seat which accomodates babies up to 30lbs and 1 year. For those of you struggling with your little ones outgrowing the Snugride the SafeSeat is a great option that still works with the Quattro Stroller.

Good, solid stroller

I have the Quattro Tour in the G Collection pattern. I am very happy with this stroller. It is sturdy yet easy to push and steer. It opens and collapses with one hand. The material is soft and comfy yet hides dirt and stains very well. The cold weather boot was a blessing during the cold Chicago winter. It is a bit on the heavy side, I refer to it as the "volvo stroller", but I never have a problem lifting it into my trunk and I'm only 5'3" and 120lbs. I love how my Graco car seat just pops in and out of it. I also love that the stroller itself has a 5 point harness so my son can't lean forward in the seat. The only thing I would change about this stroller would be to make it reversible so that my son could either face me or face out.

Great Stroller, Looks Great too

I like this stroller a lot, there are several features that are new to me as I had my first child seven years ago. The negative thing I can think of is the size - it's a large stroller, and even takes up a lot of space when it's folded, so definitely not for moms with smaller vehicles. Also, it's pretty heavy so it's a pain to take with you on short trips. My daughter is almost 3 months old and I will buy a more light-weight stroller very soon. It is very easy to use though and a great stroller, I am just a smaller person so I sometimes cringe at the thought of lifting it in and out of my SUV!

Big Stroller, but worth it!

We have had this stroller for nearly a year now. We absolutely love it and are asked where we purchased it. We love the parent tray, the extra large storage basket, and the easy fold/unfold features. Our son is soooo comfortable in it that he falls asleep almost everytime we go for a walk. The biggest con is the size - it takes up the entire trunk space if you have a car that has a big enough trunk! So plan on purchasing an umbrella stroller for quick trips. The other con that I just discovered is how difficult it is to remove the 5 point harness and the cover in order to wash everything. I doubt I will replace the 5 point harness - just leave it a 3 point even for our baby on the way. Overall, you can't beat this stroller. Whenever you must use an umbrella stroller, you will be longing for your Quattro Tour LX instead!

I ordered from elite and was impressed how quickly it shipped. Good job! This stroller is better equipped than most cars on the road these days. Can't wait to put some more miles on it!
