The Graco MetroLite Stroller is a lightweight Graco stroller weighing 17 lbs that comes equipped with many of the features found in a larger, heavier stroller. The suspension system smoothes out bumps, and the seat reclines all the way down to a nearly flat position. Some of the convenience-enhancing features include an adjustable handlebar, large underseat storage basket, parent console, and a pivoting child tray.

Standout Features:

  • Lightweight, aluminum frame
  • Height-adjustable handle
  • One hand fold
  • Combination 3 or 5 point harness
  • Parent organizer tray with 2 cup holders
  • Pivoting child's tray with cup holder

Benefits for You: Weighing less than 20 lbs, the MetroLite baby stroller has plenty to offer. The MetroLite stroller folds down flat with just one hand so you can stash the stroller while holding your baby. There is also a parent tray with dual cup holders at the handles and a large lower-and-load storage basket beneath the seat for everything you need and anything new you might find along the way.
The Graco MetroLite stroller offers an adjustable handlebar for caretakers of different heights and a front suspension system to smooth out the bumps. The front swivel wheels lock forward for better control over rough ground. Plus, the tires never go flat!

Benefits for Baby: The MetroLite stroller provides a safe and comfy ride until baby reaches 40 lbs. The padded seat and armrests of the MetroLite stroller are quite comfortable.
The seat reclines to three positions and the retractable canopy provides plenty of shade. For added comfort, the MetroLite includes a removable infant head support and harness covers.
To keep your child occupied while you stroll, the MetroLite stroller is equipped with a pivoting kid's tray with two cupholders and a large tray for snacks or toys.

Compatibility: The MetroLite stroller is compatible with the Graco SnugRide, Graco SnugRide 32, and Graco SafeSeat (Step 1) infant car seats.

Bottom Line: For parents wanting a lightweight stroller that folds with just one hand, the Graco MetroLite is an excellent option. For the whole package, the Graco MetroLite Travel System comes complete with a Graco SnugRide infant car seat. The MetroLite travel system reduces the cost of purchasing a car seat and stroller separately.

don't like fabric

Reviewer: anonymos , seattle, wa Date: September 26, 2009
Overall i love the stroller, I got the Zarafa pattern and I don't like it that much. In the pictures it looks so nice and cute. Very soft, but it's more of a burnt orange around the edges and the orange in the hood area is not what i expected. Also, the fabric sucks. It's rough. I don't want to get the carseat to match anymore..

Not a good stroller

2
Reviewer: Stephanie , Concord Ohio Date: August 17, 2009
I wished I had bought a different stroller. I have the Graco Metro lite. Here is why I don't like it: 1. to fold it, the wheels have to be straight and they never are unless you twist them and work at it. Doing so when it is pouring down rain only leaves you wet and angry. 2. It's not that "light" I am 115lbs and it hurts my back to lift it. 3. the basket is not easy to get a diaper bag into unless the back is all the way up which you can't do if you have the car seat in the stroller. I have a small bag compared to other and it's a pain to get it or anything out of it. 4. The "shield" on the back to keep things from falling is pointless, my baby's toys are always falling out, leaving a trail. and 5. it sits up too much. It looks like she's sitting up instead of reclining and her head is always falling forward! We are just about done with the stroller and we are getting rid of it! YEY!

Love it so far!

Reviewer: Avery's Mama , Soda Springs, ID Date: May 06, 2009
I wanted to write a review on this stroller because I know what a task it is to shop for one. After spending hours reviewing strollers, I finally decided on the metrolite for a variety of reasons. I've decided that you almost need a different stroller for each occasion(everyday, jogging, airport, etc). I needed something I could use now and somewhat compact but versitile as I travel frequently. I just put this together, which was pretty easy, and I really love all the features so far. I got the platinum and absolutely love the looks of it (classy). The basket is very big and the fact that you can pull it out so you can get into it while the seat is reclined is AWESOME! I have the Graco Safeseat carseat and it fits perfectly in it. The canopy on the stroller covers the entire carseat so it will be very nice on a sunny day.

Still love it after 4 years and 2 kids!

Reviewer: Gia , Concord, CA Date: April 04, 2009
A friend bought me this stroller 4 years ago when my third child was born. I love the size and ease of use. It really is a one-hand fold. It is also easy to push one-handed as well, very smooth. My favorite features are the straps that allow for 3 or 5 point harness easily and the clip on the lower basket that allows you to access the basket even with the seat fully reclined to flat position. It has an amazingly large basket. My husband really likes having the handle that can adjust higher since he is so much taller than I am. I've used this stroller through my third and fourth child now and it still looks and works smooth and great! It can be a real pain to get the seat and canopy off to wash if you don't pay attention. I find the stroller to be extremely durable as mine still looks like new when I get a chance to wipe it down every now and then. Others have had complaints about having just the two cup holders. It hasn't been a issue for us. We bought those little swivel hooks and put them on the handle. They were cheap and fixed the problem. I couldn't find all the things I like about this stroller in another one so the hooks worked well for us. I guess my only con is that when it is folded up, you can't roll it because of the way the wheels hit. The positive to that is that it stands upright on it's own so you don't have to stoop down to pick it up and put it in the car.

Perfect Travel System!

5
Reviewer: Rosemary , Charlotte, NC Date: August 05, 2008
I searched high and low for the PERFECT travel system, and am happy to say I've found it with the Metrolite system. After spending 2 hours in the store with a veteran mom, she helped me weed through the millions of available options to see which ones would actually be worth while, and those that were just hype. The big thing she stressed was the overall weight and compactness of the stroller. Man, was she right! I chose the Metrolite b/c it has all the necessary ingredients of the bigger systems, like the Quattro (cup holders, large storage basket, 3 reclining seat positions) but it's so much lighter and more portable. I have another friend with the Quattro, and it takes her twice as long to fold/unfold as my Metrolite (not to mention it takes up her entire trunk area- in an SUV no less!). My specific version also has an attached bug netting, which is awesome and doubles as a sun screen. I take 2 mi walks though the neighborhood daily with my son, who is now 7 months old, and it works perfectly. Since I had a baby in December, the travel system allowed me to use the car seat locked into the stroller and to close both canopies to keep all the cold air out during our walks when he was a newborn. Now that he's bigger, he can sit in the regular seat of the stroller, and I can recline him back, once he inevitably falls asleep. I've had absolutely no problems with it mechanically or otherwise, and like I said, I've gotten some mileage out of it in the past 7 months. You can spend A LOT more money on European and other name brands, but to get the most bang for your buck, while having a high quality stroller, the Metrolite is your best bet!

Compact Travel System

5
Reviewer: LilDeb , Anaheim, CA Date: February 21, 2008
We selected this travel system even before our son (first child) was born and have had no regrets. The stroller is not as cumbersome as others. In fact, it JUST fits through many doorways. I can't imagine anything larger! The adjustable handle comes in use a bit since I'm 5'1" and Dad is 6'2". The storage basket is ample enough for us - it's not a shopping cart, you know. The car seat fits on securely, snaps into place, with additional red 'locks' to hold the seat down. I often put them in locked position then recline the car seat to rest on top of them. With both the seat and stroller canopies extended there is almost full coverage. I've taken baby for numerous walks in the wind/rain. The seat snaps easily onto the base in the car. Also used without base on board aircraft and in rental car: need to position baby in first, then secure with seatbelt! We found carrying our 75-90th %tile weight boy a joy, 6 mos and going!

So Happy!

5
Reviewer: Anne , Carrollton, TX Date: September 27, 2007
Imagine my surprise when I purchased this $150+ stroller at my favorite re-sale shop for $30! My son is the "Houdini" of strollers and I needed one he couldn't get out of: Nothing says "heart attack" like turning around for one second only to turn back around to be face-to-face with the backwards standing little devil! No More! LOVE the shoulder straps! Genius! It handles so well, and really is a light-weight improvement from the Graco I bought for his big sister back 5 years ago. At 15 months, I'm sure he won't be in this one for long, which is why I didn't want to seriously invest - but I am so happy that I found this one!

Above and Beyond!

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Plano, TX Date: April 12, 2007
This stroller is all you need and then some! I have taken it with me from day one and still use it and my son is 14 months old! It is very easy to fold, I have even folded it holding baby in one hand, bag on shoulder, quickly before entering the plane to take off. In the beginning having the car seat being able to snap in so easily and securely is awesome, so easy! The stroller is good on ALL kinds of ground, I have even used it to jog around a track! LOVE IT! You DEFINITLY will get your moneys worth.

I would not buy this stroller again

3
Reviewer: Anonymous , Billings, MT Date: June 07, 2006
I have also had problems with the basket. My stroller basket broke after only four months with hardly any use. The stroller rides well, but has a lot of cheap and flimsy parts - i.e., the basket and the clip holding it together when folded. I have also found the rear flap behind the seat to be awkward. It is difficult to fold up and secure. The cup holders on the parent's tray are small and will not hold a Nalgene bottle. There is also nowhere to place your keys or cell phone. All in all, I do not think this stroller is worth the price. My baby is eight months old and I just purchased a new stroller - different brand and more expenseive. If you are looking for a stroller to last into toddlerhood, I would keep looking and buy something more durable.
