Our Review of the Graco DuoGlider LXI stroller

The Graco DuoGlider LXI Tandem double stroller packs all the conveniences of two Graco strollers into one. With an earthy color scheme and well-designed fold-up mechanism, the Duoglider LXI looks great and folds up rather compactly.

The DuoGlider weighs just a bit more than the single passenger Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe, and is perfect for twins — it accepts two Graco SnugRide with EPS or two Graco SafeSeat (Step 1) infant car seats at the same time. Though other colors will compliment the look of the Duoglider LXI Darius or Metropolitan, those specific styles are available only with SnugRide infant carseats.

For parents, the DuoGlider LXI offers a one handed folding mechanism that collapses the stroller into a flat package that is rather easy to manage, and the extra large lower-and-load basket lets you store all that extra kid gear—or even groceries—in one easy to access spot. The parent tray at the handle provides a fine spot to hold your drinks, keys, and phone; and the quad-front swivel wheels lock for extra steering control and have a springy suspension system that smoothes out the ride.

For riders in the DuoGlider LXI, the elevated rear seat gives the rear passenger a clearer view than many tandem strollers do, while the tuck-away tinted visors in the canopies offer an extra bit of shade on sunny days. The DuoGlider is the ideal tandem for twins, since it provides the same features for each seat so neither of them feel left out: there are dual kid trays with cupholders, a flat reclining  recline in the rear seat and two recline positions for the front. There's also a removable head support included with each seat.

Bottom Line: The DuoGlider LXI is an all-around solid tandem stroller from Graco, weighing in at a reasonable 31 lbs. with a 40lbs. weight capacity for each seat. It's one of very few strollers that can take 2 seats at once, so it's a great fit for families with twins.

The DuoGlider doesn't have the best wheels and, in classic Graco economy, comes with an abundance of plastic parts. Parents looking for a tandem Graco stroller with a more durable frame and higher weight capacity should check out the Graco Quattro Duo Milan, the Quattro Tour Duo Metropolitan, or the two-carseats-plus-a-toddler Joovy Big Caboose.

The Graco Quattro Tour Duo has all the features of the DuoGlider LXI, plus:

  • A more durable frame
  • A better suspension system
  • More seat room
  • A higher weight capacity

This stroller was the best purchase I have made for my twins. I can stuff the basket with tons of stuff and babies in their seats w/ or w/o car seats and is still a very smooth ride. I am a small mom and even for me it is not hard to push and turns corners. To bad that they don't have in my local stores. Noce modern pattern too.

This is our second double GRACO stroller. We have an infant carrier from our first one and it fit this newer model with no problem. The material is sturdy and the wheels move with great ease. The size is not bad for double seats and it's not super heavy either. Great buy...no regrets!

Comments from The Staff:

When changes happen on product, we're usually quick to get them and turn our warehouse very fast so we're not sitting on old inventory. Thanks for the feedback, it's great to hear our efforts pay off with happy customers.

Great for Infant and Toddler

I recently purchased the Graco DuoGlider for my newborn and 18 month old son. I was looking for something sturdy, easy to maneuver (as much as is possible with a double stroller), comfortable for kids, with storage too. I looked at some of the newer fancier models but I decided on the Graco as it came highly recommended and I talked to people who owned them and they were very satisfied. This model is the top of the line for the DuoGlider models. It has higher quality material, 5 point harness (instead of 3), fully reclining back seat and 2 step recline in the front. The storage pouch underneath has a drop down opening to make it easier to get to the contents even when the back seat is reclined. It is also made with stadium seating so the kid in back will have a better view. My only complaint is that it seems pretty heavy to lift. But pushing is no problem once it is out on the ground. I would definitely recommend this model.

makes life easier with two small children

When we found out we were expecting our second baby, our son was 15 months. That would make him about 2 years when the new baby was to arrive. Life was hectic enough with one toddler, paying bills, shopping, and other daily tasks became quite a task. I couldn't imagine how I was going to accomplish my everyday running around with two small children, my husband worked full time and could not help during the day. Then it dawned on me, a double stroller would be just the thing. The children would be buckled in safely preventing them from touching things in the stores and they couldn't wander off, and so the search began. We looked at about a dozen strollers before deciding on the Graco DuoGlider. Most others either didn't have the features I was looking for or were way over priced. We chose the Graco DuoGlider for the following reasons: It folded up nicely to fit into a trunk, it rolled along very nicely, the rear seat was raised a little so the child in the back could see over the child in the front, each seat had it's own removable sun canopy, foot rest and snack tray, fabulous navy plaid seat cushions which also could be removed to wash, it had a large basket in the bottom for carrying things. The only downfalls that I found this stroller to have were: It doesn't roll well in sand, and it's kind of heavy when it is folded up. If you don't have many sandy areas in your neighborhood, and you don't have to carry the stroller long distances, then this is the stroller for you. We have had ours for 2 years now, and it has made shopping and everyday chores so much less complicated.

Good looking, easily maneuverable stroller for 2

This stroller is great, I only wish I would have bought it sooner. I have a 9 month old and a 3 year old and both enjoy the stroller. It is easy to use with an infant car seat as well as with the 5 point harness. The back seat lays flat enough for the baby to sleep plus the sun shade provides ample coverage to keep out the sun and noise. It is big enough for my 3 year old to be comfortable but it is slim enough to fit through most openings easily. It also has a nice look to it and it relatively easy to clean. For the price and quality I would certainly recommend this stroller to other moms.

Total convenience

This stroller is a bit large at first, but once you get used to it, it is a dream! It is so easy to fold and has just about every feature one might need for a double stroller. The Graco infant carrier snaps in easily and there is plenty of storage. The cup holder is nice too.

Well worth it, especially with two little ones

We had a Peg Perego before this one, when our daughter was born, we needed a dual stroller. We researched a bunch of dual strollers and found that this was the best bet. It's not as exclusive as others, but it is very easy to use and works well with teo kids. Only wish that this had an adapter to hold Peg Perego infant seats. The fabric pattern was nice and no able to be everywhere, so that makes it a little different. There is a reason that there are alot of these strollers - they work well for many situations

Love the weight and ease of opening. Great to maneuver. Its a little bit of a tight fit for the car seat to fit in the back seat of the stroller. Love the Large basket, but it doesn't have a lever to lower the basket, therefore making it a little difficult to get the diaper bag in the basket when the infant car seat is in the back stoller seat - since the seat has to be at a full recline position. One thing to be careful about is if you have a child in an infant seat in the back stroller seat and not a child in the front, the stroller could tip over backward. This almost happend to me when I had the diaper bag draped over the stroller handle (cause I couldn't get it in the basket with the baby in the back stroller seat) and I took my oldest out of the front of the stroller. But overall I really like it!
