In 1965, Owen Findlay Maclaren, an aeronautical engineer and former test pilot, sought an easier way for his daughter to travel with her newborn baby. Traditional strollers and prams took up a lot of space, so Maclaren put his engineering knowledge to work and created a baby stroller with a three-dimensional fold.
