Our Review of the Eddie Bauer Deluxe booster seat

The Eddie Bauer Deluxe Booster carseat is a forward facing car seat that accommodates kids from 22lbs. to 100lbs. making it part of a very select group of safety seats that last almost as long as your child needs a carseat. The Deluxe booster installs with seatbelts or LATCH from 22 to 40lbs., then uses adjustable belt position settings to secure a child up to 100 lbs comfortably.

The Eddie Bauer Deluxe Booster is a more affordable alternative to the Eddie Bauer 3-in-1 convertible seat and Deluxe 3-in-1. (The 3-in-1 secures a child up to 80 lbs, and the Deluxe 3-in-1 a toddler up to 100 lbs.)

The Deluxe booster utilizes a full, energy absorbing EPP foam headrest , a padded 5-point harness that secures a kid of 40lbs. or less, and Eddie Bauer?s signature QuickFit harness adjustment system that easily adjusts the headrest and harness height without re-threading. There?s also a push-button chest clip for easy ins and outs, and a unique three position recline setting so your kid can lean back and relax when they start to doze.

For their comfort, the Deluxe Booster has a thick seat pad, rubber armrests that pivot up and out of the way to make climbing in and out the booster easier, and the all-important slide-out cupholder for drinks. You don?t realize how valuable a carseat with a cupholder is until you?ve a) had to reach back and hand your kid a drink every time they asked for it, then take it back, or b) cleaned a huge stain off your backseat because you didn?t feel like taking that drink back, and just let them hold it.

How does the Eddie Bauer Deluxe Booster compare with the Eddie Bauer Adjustable Booster?

The Deluxe Booster offers:

  • QuickFit harness system that adjusts easily and without re-threading
  • Three recline positions
  • Five position open-loop vehicle belt guides
  • EPP headrest
  • Single cupholder, instead of 2 like the Adjustable Booster
  • Does not convert to a backless booster like the Adjustable Booster

I bought this car seat for my 4.5 yr old son. He is too skinny, weight only 34 but very tall 43" He is not ready for a belt position booster but too tall for most of the 5pt harness car seat. Then I found this one and it's max height capacity for 5pt harness is 54" I was quite disappointed to find that the seat belt is too short. I don't think it's max capacity is 54". I think 46" at the most. If you have a tall child and you want to keep him/her in a 5pt harness car seat, this is NOT the one. But overall, this is a very comfortable car seat. The quality of the material is excellent. Unfortunately I cannot use it.

I bought this car seat when my son out grew his Graco convertible seat. This seat is great because it grows with him, I dont have to worry bout the harness being too tight around him. My son is a pretty big 2 year old and this is seat is so comfortable. His height doesn't matter either because the harness grows with him. When ya have a 10lb baby ya gotta look for these things. If you are expecting a bigger baby check out the height and weight restrictions on EVERYTHING. You will not believe how fast they can outgrow a carseat! Check everything out then come back and buy this seat!! I am very happy with my purchase!

Comments from The Staff:

Thanks for the review! Two years old is pretty young for a booster - we'd recommend keeping your child in a 5 Point Harness as long as possible, it distributes the forces of a crash much more effectively for a younger child than the 3 point adult safety belt does. - Christina@NicheRetail.com - Call Center Manager/Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician
