Cute but not for us

I ordered this seat as a second seat for my 5 year old daughter. It was going to be used in my husband's vehicle when needed and for another child if a friend were to ride with us. The print (giraffe)is fun, the side wings for head are deep enough and the fabric is very nice. However, after placing the seat in the car we decided we really wanted a seat with latch. My husband disliked the idea of keeping the seatbelt around the seat so it wouldn't be sliding around when our daughter wasn't in it. So, i'm back to doing my research and focusing only on those with latch. I would say the quality of this seat is a notch above a Graco. It still feels quite flimsy to me (too plastic), which is why i didn't consider a Graco. So, it's really up to what you like. I've used Britax since my daughter was tiny and find i'm partial to the quality that brand offers. Our primary seat now is a Britax Frontier and i love it. Please note that i knew the compass seat did not offer latch or recline when i ordered it and therefore it is not fair for me to bash it for not having these features. So, that said, if you are looking for a basic seat without latch and without recline...this could work well for you. I simply realized i wanted our seat to offer more. I have since ordered the Safeguard Go. It will allow me to keep her harnessed up to 60 lbs and yet have a seat that is easily removed, easy to travel with and latches to the car. I'll have to see how it works out.

My 5 yr old son loves it as much as I do! It makes life easier having two young children. He sleeps as well in this as he did his old carseat that now toddler sister is in.

Compass B510 Booster Seat

We bought the Compass B510 Booster Seat for my 4-yr old son. He loved his booster seat when we drove from NY to VA this weekend. He was comfortable, and even slept in comfort. I appreciate the details and design, functionality (wider side wings and larger headrest, flip-up armrest, belt path, cupholders, folding up for travel/storage). Also a plus, the seat fabric can be taken off to be hand-washed, drip dry if stains occur. Definitely glad we bought the Compass B510.

Compass B510 booster seat

My daughter loves the giraffe print. She is proud and wants to show everyone her new big girl chair.
The only drawback is that it the chair does not recline. That makes long trips tough because if she falls asleep she slumps forward into her lap which is very incomfortable looking.

Rock Solid Seat!

My five year old daughter recently outgrew the maximum height for her Fisher Price Safe Embrace carseat. (A total bummer as it was, in my opinion, one of the best carseats EVER made!! I don't know why they stopped!!) Anyway, my daughter is light for her age, weighing only 35 lbs. I really wanted to go to a convertible seat with another 5-point harness, and wait til she was heavier to go to a booster. I quickly learned the 5-point seats with higher weight maximums also carried much heftier price tags! So I decided to look into booster seats. My friend recommended this Compass booster. I currently have a Graco Turbobooster for my 6 year old son. It is a good seat, but he often complains of back pain on long trips. The Compass B510 has much better back and head support, important for us, especially since my daughter still naps in the car. Although her head does bob around at times, it certainly seems more comfortable for her than the Graco booster would be. She LOVES the giraffe print (so does my son!). The base is wider than the Graco turbobooster, so it is harder for her to buckle the seat belt. It is also a very tall seat, one that could obstruct your view depending on where you put it in the car. But I would definitely recommend this well made, sturdy seat! P.S. I have no use for the fact that the seat folds in half, but it is a cool feature.

Great, sturdy seat

I got this seat for my tall 6 year old son after first returning the Britax Parkway because he refused to sit in it. (He didn't like how confining the headrest was, especially with a winter coat on). The Compass booster is MUCH nicer than the Britax. The seat is sturdier in general, the headrest stays at the level I set it, and the seat belt is easy to route but doesn't get caught in the seat. He hasn't fallen asleep in it yet, but I think it will offer more support than his previous Graco Ultra Cargo. I am very happy with the Compass seat and I think it will last my son until he is 8 and can ride without a booster.
I have also been very happy with the service at elitecarseats.com. I purchased return shipping insurance on the Parkway for a few dollars, and they offered me no hassles about sending it back, just sent me a shipping slip. Thanks!

THIS CARSEAT IS TOP RATE

I researched many carseats, like Britax, and I kept coming back to this one. I have bought one for myself, my husband's car and my mother-in-law's car. I especially was pleased to see my son's head stay upright the first time he fell asleep in the chair, where as my friends who have the Graco their children's heads always are down in their neck when they fall asleep.

Comfi seat for my little man

After chatting with the Elitecarseat.com online help person, I chose this booster over the Britax, and I'm glad I did. Great value, great seat. The seat is very comfortable, cushiony soft, but very sturdy, and my 6-year-old loves the Camo design. I'm happy b/c it's safe, and has the padded head protection. We had this booster for 5 months, and it has held up, and still looks new after the gentle loving hands, feet, etc. of my son. The only negative is, that if my son does want to sleep on long trips, he leans out to the side to rest on the window, b/c the seat does not recline at all. I will, however, get another Compass booster, when my 4-year-old outgrows his harness seat, and I would recommend this site for the purchase for anyone. Great customer service, love the online help - which is what sold me. I did a lot of research and was quite indecisive until I could run my thoughts by someone, who knows everything about carseats. Plus, she was very nice. :-)

the best all-round booster

I have 6 of these seats now--we have 3 kids and have sets in both cars. They easily fit my small 4 year old to my tall 7 year old, with no complaints. The prints are pretty cool. The girls fought over the giraffe print, but now we have two of this print in one car, which solved the problem. They are easy to strap in, as the arm rest can move up, and the seat belt doesn't get caught under them like it does in most other booster seats. That could possibly be the best feature--we were all going mad with other booster seats when the belt was under the armrest and then wouldn't retract all the way, and would be locked--I would have to get my child out of the seat, and take the seat almost out to get the belt off. I've never had this problem with this seat.
