The Combi Centre ST is the most affordable model in the Combi family of infant car seats. Along with the Combi Connection and the Combi Centre DX, the Centre ST works with infants up to 22lbs., offers the same outstanding safety features, the same comfy fabrics (though in different colors) and 95% of the features offered by the Combi Centre DX. Both the Centre ST and Centre DX share safety features like energy absorbing EPS foam in the headrest area, a washable seat liner, and padded 5-point harness straps . . . their difference is a matter of fashion and a single convenience feature.*
The Centre ST comes with a sturdy LATCH equipped ?anti-rebound? base system and an easy to read level indicator. In the event of a collision, the anti-rebound system of a Combi Centre car seat reduces the rebound effect, and therefore the strain placed on the seat' mechanics, restraints, and your baby. The shape of the Centre ST's base is somewhat different from most; it rests firmly against your vehicle?s seat back to provide additional security. An adjustment mechanism within the base allows you to find the correct angle of installation, and the 8.6lbs infant carrier clicks in and out of the base very easily. A removable infant body pillow in the seat provides additional support and comfort for newborns.
*What sets the Combi Centre ST apart from the Combi Centre DX?
In terms of safety and comfort, the Combi Centre ST and Combi Centre DX are virtually identical infant car seats. There is, however, one major difference between the two: the Centre DX has an incredibly convenient one handed harness adjustment system. The process of re-threading the harness straps of an infant car seat can be time consuming and outright annoying, and a proper harness fit is crucial for proper carseat safety. With that in mind, Combi equipped the Centre DX infant car seat with a simple lever at the back of the carrier that gives a perfect, snug fit every time you strap your baby in for a ride.
