The Combi Centre DX w/ ARB (Anti Rebound Bar) is a safe and comfortable mid-range infant carseat from our safety-centered friends at Combi. Lightweight and fashion forward, Combi car seats are a step above Graco seats in terms of quality and ease of installation, and offer certain distinct features like the anti-rebound bar (see "Safety" below) that enhance the seat's safety.

INSTALLATION: Because the Centre DX w/ ARB is an infant carseat, it installs in the rear facing position only. The infant carrier snaps into the weighted anti-rebound base, which can be installed using either LATCH or your vehicle's safety belts. You may also install just the baby carrier in a vehicle, sans base, with just the seat belts.

Extra bases for Combi infant car seats are available, and come in very handy when you switch the carrier back and forth between two or more vehicles. Combi infant car seats are equipped with a height adjustable base and an indicator that helps you set the seat angle to the correct level.

COMFORT: The Combi Centre DX w/ ARB has thick padding beneath the removable fabrics, a large sun canopy for shade, and additional padding along the shoulder harness.

SAFETY: A new enhancement to the Centre DX w/ ARB is the addition of an Anti-Rebound bar incorporated on the seat. No other infant carseat offers an ARB on the carrier itself. The few models that do have this feature only have one on the base. The advantage the Centre DX w/ ARB has over those other infant car seats is that it offers additional rebound protection if the seat is installed with or without the base.

There is also EPS foam in head area for enhanced side impact protection.

COMPARISONS

The closest comparison to the Combi Centre DX w/ ARB would be the Combi Centre ST. These seats come in different color choices, but the DX has anti-rebound protection and an easy no-thread harness adjustment. The Centre ST is roughly $30 less than the DX w/ ARB.

The Britax Companion is another infant car seat with built in anti-rebound protection – but the Companion's ARB is only available when used with the seat base.
