Not terribly comfortable and certainly not to 100

We have had this seat over 7 years and it has held up really well over time. We also appreciate the nice lateral support it offers. This is a mixed blessing, though, because the side depth requires our daughter have greater physical assistance getting into this seat than other brands.
Unfortunately, it has never been particularly comfortable for our daughter with disabilities; the padding is insufficient. She has no deformaties, just needs a little extra support. She is a slim 65 lbs and 4'5" now and has reached the end of its growth potential, both for the location of the shoulder harness points and the seat width and depth. We will need to look into a different seating option for her this winter as it will no longer accommodate her wearing a thick winter coat.

This car seat was given to us for our 4 year old son who is severely handicapped and cannot hold his head up or sit. He has a wheelchair but his legs get really stiff and it is like he is halfway standing up in it, he is not comfortable at all. We tried the car seat in the house hoping that he might have something comfortable to sit in at home and we were thrilled with it. Nothing has ever kept him sitting in such a good, straight position and been able to keep his head from falling forward as well. He sits so relaxed and doesn't stiffen up at all. He can sit in it for a couple hours at a time, giving us a little bit of a break from constantly holding him. We keep it in the house and move it from the couch if we're watching TV, to a kitchen table chair when we eat dinner and he is right there with us. We also put it on the floor so he can be with his brother and sister at their level when they play. If we know we will be going somewhere where he will need to sit for a while we take it with us, it is very lightweight and easy to transport. This has been a wonderful piece of equipment for us and most of all we love that we have found something that can provide the support he requires and the comfort he needs.

I have 2 of these car seats w/mobilty bases.as a mom of 13 I have used more carseats than you can belive. for a child with special needs this has been great. Its light weight air craft approved (hard to find in any seat) attached to mobilty base is easy. when our son grew out of the sit n strol, this was a lifesaver now that or son is larger we use two person lift it works nice. Realy great for traveling when a wheel chair and/or lift is not avalable.we have used it on planes a few times, rentel cars, trains, tour buses, even the fary to statue of liberty.

I am a Grandmother and have taken the State Patrol Car Seat Trainning course, I have worked with all types of children 30 years. A lot of seats are very hard to fit in some cars. However the trouble is worth the effort. Our Car Seat has serviced four children and is still in use. I love the seat and other parents have wanted to know how to get one. Our neighbor used our seat in her motor home to travel 3000 mile for vacation, her daughter is three and has no special needs, she just loves the seat, the child is an escape artist and she cannot get out of this seat and it was perfect in the captain chair of the motor home.
We also have tall children for their weight and your seat is the perfect height. Just put your knee in the seat and buckle tight, if a grandma can....
Your seat is wonderful.
Thanks

Its not the easiest seat to use, but we found it great for our special needs child. We feel he is very well protected. Once you follow the instructions the first time carefully - it is easier to install and remove.

It'll do the job, but there's better options.

I recently (4/05) took an additional Child Passenger Safety Technician course for Children with Special Needs (this is a 2 day/16 hour training, available only after completing the 4 day/32 hour CPS Tech training). While practicing in class, I found the harness difficult to adjust (the adjustments are under the seat and/or in the back) and the seat difficult to install tightly (even with 2 techs and an instructor). The belt path is wide and chrome (slippery) and the seat back does not snug into the vehicle seat. It's a joke to promote a stroller base for this seat. Repeatedly installing/removing a child restraint almost guarantees misuse (improper installation). In addition, what do you do with your child (the one with seating/positioning concerns) while removing the seat and placing it in the stroller base and back again? This is just another example of:
