- Britax has just implemented a new, patent-pending, energy absorbing rip-stitch tether for all Boulevard convertible car seats.
It is all about the wings with the Britax Boulevard convertible car seat - head and torso safety wings help keep your child from harm in a side-impact crash. And this matters - side-impact crashes are the leading cause of death for 6 - 14 year-old children.
Of course, the safety wings are only one of the many safety features that the Britax Boulevard offers: built-in lock-offs, 5-point harness with front adjuster, tangle-free webbing, a push button release LATCH system with Versa-Tether®, and a sculpted base, ensuring an easy installation with a secure fit.
Safety aside, the Boulevard also comes with some of the nicest comfort features - a plush, washable cover and patented HUGS system that's designed to better distribute webbing loads to reduce head movement and minimize the chance for webbing edge loading on the child's neck in the case of an impact. In addition, the Boulevard is designed to reduce the chance of improper chest clip positioning.
In the past, we found that although side-impact "wings" provide a higher level of safety, some parents experienced difficulties getting their children to sit properly in the wings. Some parents feel that wings are too restrictive, and prevent children from seeing out the side windows - causing their kids to lean forward out of the seat. However, Britax seems to have paid attention to parents' feedback on previous models, because the Boulevard's wings come out at an angle that allows your child a good view of her surroundings - while still providing side-impact protection.

Great seat! Well worth the extra $$ over the Marathon

Love the Boulevard! This is the 3rd one for our family and we have always been happy with them. I can't understand why the Marathon is so much more popular. Why wouldn't you want the extra protection of the head wings? I've seen complaints about them being uncomfortable for some, but my kids like them & the bonus is that they provide a much welcome head support for naps on long car rides. I've tried a very similiar model from another manufacturer & the Boulevard wins in pretty much every category. Easy to install, easy to modify harness height, etc. Would recommend to anyone.

Here to buy my second!

Just a quick note to say that I love this car seat. We are buying another (identical to the one we already have) for our second little girl. We have a Chrysler Town & Country mini-van & it fits fine in the second row bucket seat. (My mother in law drives a Grand Prix & also has 2 in her car & while very tight in there they do both fit.) We have washed it numerous times & it still looks brand new. Had no trouble installing it, and along with the safety specifications & just looking at your child in the car seat- you can tell it is a very safe & top of the line car seat. Also, my daughter seems to find it very comfy to sleep in- just leans her head right on the wings. I think I looked at car seat reviews & safety websites for about 5 hours the first time I bought this car seat (about 2 years ago)& I am still so very happy that I picked this one. I highly recommend it! Also, I get lots of compliments on how pretty it is.

Safety Tested

I bought the Britax Boulevard based upon its safety ratings. After using it for 6 months, it was put to the test. My husband and 20-month old son were in an accident on the interstate. Our car was totaled. My son was fine. Not a scratch. I will definitely buy this car seat again.

Great seat, but could be even better

We're a Britax family; I can never say enough good things about Britax car seats. In fact, this is the 3rd Britax we have bought for our 27 month old daughter (we have the Marathon and the Roundabout). Like the other two, the Boulevard was extremely easy to install and has lots of nice features. There's only one problem I have found; and I think it's a bit of a design flaw. The only way to adjust the height of the shoulder straps is to also adjust the side-impact headrest portion. They raise and lower together. And the shoulder straps are supposed to be above the child's shoulder level (when forward facing). But when I raise them above her shoulders, it raises the headrest too high so that it doesn't really encompass her head. Her head winds up sitting below most of the head rest. I bought the return shipping insurance, but I'm keeping the seat because some side impact protection is better than none. Also, more than once, the harness yoke (in the back of the seat) has gotten caught up in the drive screw that the head rest raises and lowers on. It was a quick fix to jiggle it free, but irritating nonetheless. Like I said, I think it's a design flaw. I wish there was a way to independently adjust the shoulder straps and the headrest. But overall, I am happy with the seat and would still recommend it to friends. Britax makes a wonderful seat, and it would have gotten 5 stars except for that one issue.

Wonderful carseat!

I love this carseat! This is the third Boulevard we've purchased...one for daddy's car, one for my car and this one for grandpa and grandma's car! It's well worth the money for such a comfortable and well made seat. I love the side impact pads, they seem to help keep my sons head from bobbing around when he falls asleep, too. We have son #2 on the way and he'll be getting one (or three of these, too)...ugh! Time to re-fi the house! Safety is worth it!

Love the car seat

My son out grew his Britax Companion car seat at 6 months old, so we bought the Britax Boulevard Davenport. He loves it!! He can look out the window and has more room to stretch out. He seems very happy in the car seat. I like the click the strap gives when it's tight enough, with his old car seat I always worried that the straps too tight or too loose. I also like the head rest, it moves up and down very easily. The material is nice and soft and I love the color, it matches my grey leather interior. The latch system is easy too, my husband installed the car seat without the directions easily. My son and I love this car seat. I just wish I bought it sooner. I absolutely recommend this car seat, it's worth the money. My mind is at ease knowing he is in a very safe car seat.

I have had mine for about a year and a half. It is a great seat. I have a Mazda Tribute and it fits in there but is a little cramped with 2 regular size adults but manageable. The latch on it jammed after I had it about 4 months but Britax shipped me a new one free of charge in just a few days and nothing else has gone wrong since. My son is 2 1/2 now and about 31 lbs and it still fiits him just fine. The LATCH system is easy to use and I can switch it from car to car in less than 3 min. It is a bit bulky but worth it to keep my son safe.

SAVED MY BABY'S LIFE!!!

My daughter, mother-in-law and I were in an accident about a month ago. I was in the passenger seat, my daughter in her boulevard behind me, mother in law driving. A drunk driving sped through the intersection and we were hit on the passenger side. It was horrible, 2 of the bones in my leg were broken, needing surgery, and my shoulder also dislocated and wrist broken. I also received a horrible concussion. My mother in law broke her collar bone... My daughter didnt have a scrath on her. She was scared of course but completely fine. Her little 19 month old body was protected so well she didnt even have a bruise. The paramedic told my husband that these were the type of accidents that kill children. This seat saved my daughter, and I am so thankful to britax for making such an amazing seat. I hope that you will never have to truly see how amazing they are. You will not regret buying this. We have already bought our replacement seat.

Great Seat!

After researching various seats, we decided on this one. It's got many safety features that are important to us and it's washable and durable. I have not yet washed it but the covers are easily removable which is another reason I bought this over other seats. The headrest provides safety from side impact to protect her little head during a crash. Prior to reading the specs I had not even considered that as an option until I started researching features offered. It also provides a nice head rest for when she is sleeping. My daughter sleeps very well in this car seat also. The seat is every bit worth what we paid for it. I have peace of mind that it will protect our little one should we have an accident. Elite Car Seats had the best price and delivery. They use FEDEX and I always have fast/great delivery with them so that's another reason I bought from Elite Car Seats. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.
