Our Review of the Baby Jogger Q Series 16" Single stroller

On Clearance for $229.99! Regularly priced at $249.99.  Save $20 (8%)

Baby Jogger's Q-Series Single is a solid, no-nonsense stroller designed for running, jogging, or around town. The stand-out feature of this jogging stroller is the amazing folding mechanism - grab a strap in the seat, and lift up. The entire stroller instantly collapses into a light, tidy bundle, ready to be stored away in a closet or dropped into the trunk of your car. Safety features ensure that the stroller will not collapse inadvertently. It's the only folding mechanism on the market today that can compete with the BOB jogging strollers.

Other features worth noting include a reclining seat with a firm, padded back (much better than Baby Jogger's previous sling-style seats), a good-sized under-seat storage basket, and a new multi-position canopy. There are not as many handy optional features (bells and whistles) on the Q-Series Single as there are on, for example, Dreamer Design strollers - but if you're in the market for a simpler, light-weight stroller with an super-simple and convenient fold-down, this is the model for you. Available in both a 16" wheel model or a 12" wheel model.

Just a side note... this 16" Q series is one of our best selling jogging strollers.

Note: 12" Model does not include Hand Brake

Great Buy!

Reviewer: Erik , Westmont, NJ Date: July 30, 2008
I bought the Baby Jogger Q Series stroller about 3 months ago and I have really enjoyed it. It was easy to put together and performs really well. I am able to run 7:30 mile pace with my son enjoying ride with no problems. My only problem is with the sun visor, i wish it folded down a little more when we are running into the sun, but other than that its great.

Comments from The Staff:

Thanks for your comments. I do agree that sometimes the two panel canopy might not be enough sun coverage. For extra coverage at a very reasonable price, try the Kiddopotamus Ray Shade.

Good value

Reviewer: Carolyn , NW PA Date: June 24, 2008
Stroller works exactly as I had hoped it would. Pros: Easy to assemble, easy to use, lightweight, folds simply, fits (w/o car seat adapter) in the trunk of my Honda Civic, with front wheel attached. Good value for the price paid. Storage is more than enough, but I'm a light packer. Appears that it will fit my daughter for quite a while yet (8 months now). Brakes work fine, canopy is small but sufficient, stroller dries quickly when accidentally left out in rain. Cons: Recline is less than desired and less than other, newer (and more expensive) strollers. Harness fit is terrible and doesn't fit a small child. Lower harness anchor is attached strangely and slides around during use, allowing child to slump down if they are slim. Am forced to use car-seat adapter even though my daughter can sit ably by herself. Would have given 5 stars if not for the harness issue. Note that most stroller storage is lost with use of adapter. Overall, I recommend this stroller. It's a good entry-level choice for a running new mom (or dad) who just wants to get out of the house with a quality piece of equipment.

great jogging stroller

Reviewer: S.K , Denver, CO Date: May 29, 2008
I am a moderate jogger and absolutely love this stroller. I bought it when my daughter was a newborn and it still works great with her as a toddler. It has great storage in multiple places. It rides extremely smooth and is a breeze to push, walking and jogging. It is easy to collapse and get in and out of the car. The construction is amazing, I haven't given it any maitenance in the 2 years I've had it and it is in perfect shape. I've never even had to fill the tires and I use this stroller all the time. This is one of the best investments I've made! My only downfall to the stroller is the short sun shade, so I sometimes have to drape a small blanket over the top to create more shade.

Comments from The Staff:

Try the Kiddopotamus Ray Shade for extra canopy coverage. It's an inexpensive way to create more sun coverage for your little one. Thanks for your feeback.

Needs better sun canopy

3
Reviewer: Anonymous , Champaign, IL Date: April 16, 2008
The jogger rolls nicely and is very easy to fold. The sun canopy provides woefully insufficient coverage, however. Rigging up various accessories to provide sun coverage has been only minimally effective and causes a lot of drag, especially on windy days.

great running stroller

Reviewer: Anonymous , Lakeland, FL. Date: December 26, 2007
We got this stroller prior to Christmas and my wife started running with it immediately. She would run 6+ miles and the baby would fall asleep during the run as the stoller is so smooth. The sunshade does not come down quite as far as a conventional stroller, but this is not for casual use, it is purpose built and does a wonderful job.

Great Second Stroller

4
Reviewer: Dirt Dawg , Royal Oak, MI Date: November 14, 2007
We bought this jogger to be used as a second jogger when my wife and I both run/race with our 3 1/2 yr old and 9 month old. Primarily, I use it with the 9 month old and our other jogger is a Baby Jogger Performance with 20 inch wheels. The Q series excels at being able to just fold and go, but lacks the adjustable shade and shock absorption of the performance series. It is a little narrower, but does have a great locking brakes. Knowing this going in, I find it to be a great second stroller for a running family that is unsure of whether to buy another single or double or for someone that wants to step up from the department store "running" stroller looking to go a little faster on those family walks.

Disappointed

2
Reviewer: Anonymous , Forsyth, MO Date: October 14, 2007
I shopped and shopped for joggers online before finally purchasing this one. I have to say I am disappointed with the Q Series. My major complaints with the jogger is that the seat does not recline enough for my little guy to be comfortable. Also, the handle bars are the perfect height for me but they are too short for my husband. An adjustable handle would be nice. The sun shade is a joke. It does a great job keeping the sun out as long as the sun is directly overhead or behind you. Unfortunately this is not always the case. I wish that I would have purchased a different stroller. I have to say that one positive thing about the stroller is that is rides very smoothly.

Comments from the Staff

We're sorry you weren't happy with your Q Series stroller. In repsonse to your issues: For your child's safety, few running strollers have a full recline for infants but you can use you Baby Jogger adaptor for infant car seats. Also, these jogging strollers don't offer adjustable height handlebars because you have to "wheelie" to turn a fixed wheel stroller and adjustable handlebars can come loose under that kind of pressure. The adjustable handle height feature is usually only available with all-terrain and walking strollers. Also, the Q Series is an older model in the Baby Jogger family, and newer strollers like the City Series and updated Baby Jogger Performance 20" have a much bigger sun canopy than the Q Series - as well as a number of other improvements over older Baby Jogger strollers.

Very Pleased

Reviewer: Willie , Orlando, Fl. Date: September 29, 2007
I purchased this stroller for my wife who is not an advid jogger but is trying to stay in shape for our renewal of vows. She absolutely loves it she does jog, more like a very fast walk (she jokes herself) and our daughter is very comfortable. Storage space is adequate. Quality is excellent. Easy fold and open. Rides smoothly on rough terrain and pavement, the baby falls asleep and is not waken up even if my wife goes over rough spots. Handle bar is comfortable and easy to control, it comes with a strap for your wrist to keep the kids from rolling away from you. We can go on and on. Our only complaint is coverage from the sun it is not sufficient but we are going to purchase one of those clip on umbrellas and hope that will help. Don't worry about putting it together you'll do fine, very simple. You will not regret purchasing it, it is a great product, and the price even better. Take Care and God Bless! Stay Safe!

Hooray for the Baby Jogger Q

5
Reviewer: John Berggren , Baltimore, MD Date: August 28, 2007
Having no previous experience with jogging strollers, the Baby Jogger Q has been a wonderful purchase. Easy to assemble, lightweight, front and rear brakes are great, folding mechanism for storage is exceptional. I had initial concerns about a fixed front wheel, but have found this stroller to be *very* easy turn. Only sharp turns require me to "pop a wheelie", gradual turns need only slight pressure on one side of the handlebars. I've been pleasantly surprised with how easy the stroller is to push during a run. It rolls smoothly over bumpy city sidewalks. My little passenger approves of it, as well.
